This celebrates the incredible talent of Jonathan Michael Castillo ’13, a Chicago-based visual artist, photographer, and educator. From creating a visionary large-scale installation at O’Hare International Airport to contributing to Chicago’s Citywide Plan through a commissioned project, his work has been featured at prestigious institutions and exhibitions, including the Art Institute of Chicago and Photo LA.

Join us in congratulating Jonathan 👏🎉 on two remarkable achievements: being named a 2026 Guggenheim Fellow and receiving the 2026 Joyce Foundation Artadia Award 🏆.

A dedicated CSULB staff member and licensed clinical social worker, Amanda is a champion for mental health awareness and an advocate for vulnerable communities. She co-founded the Wellness Ambassador Training program, empowering more than 100 faculty and staff members to better support students. As Director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), she continues to connect students at The Beach with vital resources and support, helping them thrive both academically and personally.

A first-generation student, Andre made an incredible impact at The Beach — serving as the youngest ASI Vice President of Finance, advocating for CSU students, and earning prestigious internships with the U.S. House of Representatives and California State Assembly.

Through student leadership, mentorship, and community, Andre found his second home at CSULB and is now headed back to D.C. to continue pursuing a future in public service and law. 💛🖤
