Sunday dinner is jut one ideal if a way to give structure during the summer--and all year round. These rituals not only stabilize your week, they provide rituals and customs that make memories for a lifetime. Don't miss these opportunities!

Make sure your children are safe whether they are going on an outing with you, with their friends, or just staying home. Without the structure that school provides, a lot can go wrong. Teach them these basics so if they find themselves lost or in trouble, they know how to find help.

Thank you teachers, counselors, school administrators, librarians, and parent volunteers who walk the halls of schools and take care of all of the children there. We salute you and all of your hard work! Enjoy your summer!

Children deal with the last day of school differently. Don't tell them how they "should" feel. Let them lead the way and support them accordingly. Set them up for a great summer with the structure and support they need.

The end of the school year can feel like a huge relief, but it's yet another transition period for kids. They may revert to younger comforting behaviors as the school year comes to an end close. Keep the dialog open and encourage them to share their feelings. They may want more snuggles, to watch shows they haven't watched in years, and may just be a little clingy. Be there and listen.

Provide a safe and healthy safe place in your home for your children. Let them know they have adults to love and support them and who 100% believe them. Trust your children when they talk to you. They need you to have their back--be on your child's side always!

05/29/2026

Parenting is hard in a different way from any other jobs. You put pressure on yourself and never feel like you're doing it right. Find someone to talk to. A trusted friend, other parents, your parents, your older neighbors, or a therapist. It' s important to have a support.

If things with your children escalate, remember to stay in the role of the "adult in control." Keep your cool, listen, suggest solutions, and help your child to de-escalate.

Take care of yourself so you can remain the calm one they trust.
