🎓 Alumni Spotlight: Sanidhya Kushwaha

Meet Sanidhya Kushwaha, a proud graduate of the MS Marketing Analytics program, Class of Summer 2022, who has applied his hands-on knowledge, analytical skills, and demonstrated leadership to become a Senior Paid Media Analyst at Microsoft Pilot.

📚 How did your post-graduate education at CSULB help you prepare for your current career?
"My education at CSULB gave me a strong foundation in both the art and science of marketing. The MSMA program covered everything from marketing management to advanced analytics, SQL, and machine learning, which have all been valuable throughout my career. Early in my career, I did not always realize how relevant some of that coursework would be. But as I progressed and began working with larger organizations that use more sophisticated marketing and measurement methodologies, I came to appreciate just how important that foundation was in preparing me for where I am today."

📝 What advice would you give current students or recent graduates interested in pursuing your professional field?
"Try to be the most skillful person in the room. Luck will always play a part in your career, but it can never replace skills. If you consistently invest in getting better at what you do, opportunities will find their way to you sooner or later.

Use AI to your advantage, but do not let it replace your thinking. Generate with AI, analyze the output, understand it, and then use it. That additional layer of judgment and understanding is only going to become more valuable.

Make LinkedIn your best social media profile, especially early in your career. Give it time, build genuine connections, and post as an expert."

💼 Why do you enjoy working in this position, company, and/or industry?
"I work on Copilot, and it is exciting to be at the forefront of the AI technology that is changing so quickly. Because so much of what we are doing is new, the challenges are new too. It pushes us to think differently, experiment, try new approaches, and constantly learn. There is something inherently fun about solving difficult problems when there is not always an established playbook to follow."
