Join us this THURSDAY, June 18 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at our Hawthorne Arts Complex for this month’s Creative Club! ⁠

This FREE activity is led by one of our teaching artists and this month we’re exploring air dry clay and will be creating small functional vessels using the pinch pot method! It’s going to be a super fun, hands on time so bring a friend, make a friend, and spend your morning getting creative with us!⁠

We got the grant! 🥳 We are so excited and honored to be an organization grant recipient!⁠

With the support of this grant Able ARTS Work will continue to not only provide accessible arts and music programming to our community but will also be able to host more events, workshops, performances, and so much more!⁠

A HUGE thank you from all of us here at Able ARTS Work to Arts Council for Long Beach for the amazing support. It’s with grants like these that we are able to continue making Long Beach a more musical, artful, and accessible place for everyone!⁠

Starting today we’re kicking off National Clay Week! 🤗🏺✨ For one week every June the pottery and ceramics communities celebrate the multipurpose use of clay!⁠

Here at Able ARTS Work we know all about clay and ceramics! Recently our artists have been working on many clay masterpieces during their ceramics classes making artful, functional, and sculptural works! More pieces are going into the kiln every day and we couldn’t be more excited!⁠

We’re so excited to announce that two of our Able ARTS Work Artists, Thao Nguyen and Heather Cuellar, have had their art work selected to be in and newest exhibition Living Art!⁠

Join us Saturday, June 13 from 11 AM - 4 PM for the opening reception! ⁠

This exhibition brings together artists of all abilities and backgrounds and provides a platform for creativity to shine and fosters meaningful connections through art. This theme embraces everything from animals sharing coffee to imaginative landscapes, bold textures, and expressive forms.⁠

Our San Diego artists had some fun and in the sun on a recent outing to the Mission Trails Regional Park! While there they learned about the geography and history of the area. They also brought along their sketchbooks to practice their plein air drawing skills! It was a blast and they can’t wait to go back soon! ✍️⛰️🌳🌷☀️⁠
