# LongBeachRescueMission

As we enter the fall season, LBRM is preparing to open a brand new expansion of Lydia House, creating a home for 60 more women and children who would otherwise go without.

We want to make their transition memorable, comfortable, and dignified. That is why we are participating in Long Beach Gives again!

Over the past few years, we have opened two new facilities. In 2024, we opened Apostle House, providing 15 beds for disabled men. Earlier this year, we opened Timothy House, providing 12 beds for transitional aged young men.

Through Long Beach Gives, our community has helped make these transitions a little smoother.

Long Beach Gives is fast approaching, and we are asking our community to partner with us once again. Your support will help us purchase household items for the women and children moving into Lydia House.

August brought some significant challenges; from our Backpack Drive benefiting school-aged children to shortages of food and essential items for our residents and guests.

But when the need was great, our community answered the call.

Together, we showed love, compassion, and dignity to those we serve.

We are eternally grateful for every prayer, every donation, every volunteer hour, and every act of kindness.

43rd Annual Long Beach Leadership Prayer Breakfast Join us as together we “Celebrate Hope” with our community; leaders, neighbors, and friends for a time to pause, refresh and receive encouragement through prayer and a beautiful program! We are honored to have AC Green, LA Lakers NBA Champion and Founder of the AC Green Youth Foundation as our Keynote Speaker. AC will share his powerful faith testimony to include his successful career and how God prompted him to lead such an impactful ministry of mentoring at-risk youth through life-transforming programs. A special highlight of the Prayer Breakfast will be honoring Matt & Judy Cullen with the Community Leadership Award and the Long Beach Trauma Intervention Program (TIP), with the Community Impact Award, recognizing their service, generosity and meaningful impact in our community. Long Beach Gives is this month!

LBRM is filled with wonderful stories, and Tiffany’s is one that began with a chance encounter and is now shaping a new life.

Tiffany had been living on the streets since she was thirteen, panhandling across the street from the high school she once attended just to survive.

Fast-forward 25 years. Scared and uncertain about recovery, Tiffany was introduced to Lydia House. When she arrived, she was greeted at the door by Naomi, now a member of the Mission staff and someone Tiffany knew from their days in addiction. Then came another familiar face: Mary, also from her past.

Tiffany immediately realized that God had His hand on her story, and she left her apprehension at the door.

Today, nearly five months into our New Life Program, Tiffany is surrounded by people who understand the life she left behind. We encourage her and so many other women who are courageously walking the same path toward a new life.

This fall, we will welcome 60 more women and children, each with a story of their own. We’re asking you to partner with us through Long Beach Gives to help provide the essential items that make this transition a little easier—things like pillows, towels, and other necessities.

Together, we can help make a new beginning possible.
