Trash from the LA and S. Gabriel rivers washes downstream and collects in the breakwater it then drifts back onto the beach. Help us keep the beach clean.
Why We Need Your Help:
• The Los Angeles and the San Gabriel rivers empty trash from surrounding areas into the waters
of Long Beach. Tons of pounds of trash collect inside the breakwater and drift back up on to the beach.
• After a storm, the city uses bulldozers to pick up the trash and hauls it away, but small pieces are left
behind which are only collectable by hand.
