"Futbol" is a universal language. Culture is the bridge that connects us all.

In Mexico City, I had the honor of attending the opening of "Objects of Legends: Iconic Moments in Football History" at Museo Jumex. A remarkable exhibition from the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, arriving in Mexico in the lead-up to FIFA World Cup 2026.

Honored to share this moment with Her Highness Sheikha Najla Ahmad Al Thani, curator of the exhibition, and Abdulla Yousef Al Mulla, Director of the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum.

What a joy to share these moments with the incredible judges, partners, and educators who made our One Frame at a Time Student Film Festival possible. Yvette Espinosa, Guillermo Casarin, Lalo Alcaraz, and Polaris Castillo brought such thoughtful perspective to the judging process, and seeing young filmmakers tell their stories is one of the most rewarding parts of this work. Deeply grateful for the partnership with Superintendent Jill Baker and LBUSD, and for Helen Hernandez and the Imagen Foundation's continued commitment to amplifying Latino voices in the arts. This festival exists because of collaborations like these.
Qué alegría compartir estos momentos con los increíbles jueces, aliados y educadores que hicieron posible nuestro Festival de Cine Estudiantil One Frame at a Time. Yvette Espinosa, Guillermo Casarín, Lalo Alcaraz y Polaris Castillo aportaron una mirada profunda y generosa al proceso, y ver a jóvenes cineastas contar sus historias es una de las partes más gratificantes de este trabajo. Profundamente agradecida por la alianza con la Superintendente Jill Baker y LBUSD, y por el compromiso continuo de Helen Hernandez y la Imagen Foundation en amplificar las voces latinas en las artes. A night to remember. The Cal Arts Council 50th Anniversary Gala was a beautiful reminder of how far the arts advocacy movement in California has come, and how much further we're committed to taking it.

I was honored to spend time with Danielle Brazell, Executive Director of Cal Arts Council , Jennifer Caballero, Executive Director of CA Association of Museums, and Griselda Suárez, Cultural Affairs Officer for Long Beach City . Three remarkable women shaping the future of arts and culture in our state.

These connections don't just inspire, they move the work forward.

Una noche para recordar. La Gala del 50 Aniversario del fue un hermoso recordatorio de cuánto ha avanzado el movimiento de defensa de las artes en California, y cuánto más estamos comprometidos a lograr.

Our visit to Sacramento was one I won't soon forget. Together with the MOLAA team, we had the privilege of briefing Senator Lena A. Gonzalez and Assemblymember Josh Lowenthal on the MOLAA Expansion Project. These are the conversations that matter, ones that shape the future of arts and culture in our region.

Nuestra visita a Sacramento fue una que no olvidaré pronto. Junto al equipo de MOLAA, tuvimos el privilegio de presentar el Proyecto de Expansión de MOLAA ante la Senadora Lena A. González y el Asambleísta Josh Lowenthal. Estas son las conversaciones que importan, las que dan forma al futuro de las artes y la cultura en nuestra región.

[EN] Some experiences can't be replicated — only lived. A private visit to the studios of Elias Crespin and Miguel Chevalier in Paris, guided by the artists themselves. Art is not only on the wall. Sometimes it's in the studio, in the hands of the artist, mid-creation. Paris, always. 🖤

[ES] Hay experiencias que no se pueden replicar, solo vivir. Una visita privada a los estudios de y en París, de la mano de los propios artistas. El arte no solo está en la pared. A veces está en el estudio, en las manos del artista, en plena creación. París, siempre. 🖤

El color no es decoración en el mundo de Cruz-Diez. Es pensamiento, es tiempo, es vida.

Una visita que guardo con mucho cariño. Tuve el privilegio de conocer el estudio y la Fundación del Maestro en París, acompañada de su hijo Carlos y de la arquitecta Karim Ceballos (). Ver de cerca el proceso creativo detrás de una obra tan monumental, desde la maquinaria que da vida al color hasta los archivos que documentan décadas de investigación, fue una experiencia verdaderamente reveladora.
A visit I hold close to my heart. I had the privilege of touring the studio and Foundation of Maestro in Paris, alongside his son Carlos and architect Karim Ceballos (). Seeing up close the creative process behind such a monumental body of work, from the machinery that brings color to life to the archives documenting decades of research, was a truly eye-opening experience.

A historic moment for MOLAA and for Latin American art.

I am thrilled to share that we formalized the donation from the A. Fuentes Angarita Collection, a gesture of extraordinary generosity from Andrés Fuentes Angarita, his sister Andreina, and Ana Tomás García. Their commitment to preserving and sharing Latin American art ensures that this legacy will live on for generations to come… and is only the beginning of great things to come.

This is what cultural stewardship looks like. We are deeply honored and grateful.

Emocionadísima de compartir la donación de la Colección A. Fuentes Angarita, un gesto de generosidad extraordinaria de Andrés Fuentes Angarita, su hermana Andreina, y Ana Tomás García. Su compromiso con preservar y compartir el arte latinoamericano garantiza que este legado perdure para las generaciones que vienen… y es sólo el comienzo de cosas maravillosas que vienen en camino.

Así se ve la responsabilidad cultural. Estamos profundamente honrados y agradecidos.

Standing beneath L'Onde du Midi felt like witnessing gravity hold its breath. Elias Crespin's 128 aluminum tubes move through space with a quiet, hypnotic grace that no photograph can fully capture. I feel incredibly privileged to have had the artist himself walk us through his vision, hearing him speak about the interplay of mathematics, motion, and perception made the experience all the more profound. A masterpiece that truly earns its place in the Louvre.
Estar bajo L'Onde du Midi fue como ver a la gravedad contener el aliento. Los 128 tubos de aluminio de Elias Crespin se mueven por el espacio con una gracia hipnótica que ninguna fotografía logra capturar del todo. Me siento enormemente privilegiada de haber tenido al propio artista guiándonos, escucharlo hablar sobre la interacción entre matemáticas, movimiento y percepción hizo la experiencia aún más profunda. Una obra maestra que merece plenamente su lugar en el Louvre.

March meant MOLAA in Madrid.

Grateful for a month that reaffirmed the power of connection, collaboration, and shared vision. Our participation in ARCO was not only meaningful, it was productive. We strengthened relationships, expanded our global presence, and formalized key institutional agreements that will shape MOLAA’s future in the years ahead.

None of this happens in isolation. It is the result of trust, teamwork, and a collective commitment to elevating Latin American and Latino art on an international stage.

With gratitude and momentum, we continue.
