We've been advertising on Facebook to purchase properties all over the US and it has taken some time for our first deal but we are closing on our first property today!! Ohio ownership, here we come!
Good'ish news on the IL front; we were not able to close on the Chicago property but we ended up with a person that looks like he will be a very good renter that wants to buy the house in a year or two ... Cahokia has been a disaster and a money loser from day 1 so we have listed the properties for sale (not for a gain) and we have 3 under contract already so all and all that is good. (RE is not an automatic homerun (or base hit) with every deal but we still believe it's a great place to invest so the sale of the properties will be used for better RE investments down the road)
Funny, not funny, comment from our property manager when I was talking to her about not receiving rent for a few of our properties lately ... "They can not pay rent but they have a new TV because of the government money they have received" ... Yet IL thinks we should not evict, messed up if you ask me! We don't want to evict someone that is trying but this is not trying! Come on IL remove the hold on evictions!

With COVID and everything, this investment has been difficult but we are glad that we are under contract! Praying nothing else comes up and this turns into a great house for a young family!

We are under contract with our first house in Chicago and are excited for a partnership on this deal. We are also very excited to see how great this house will look in 3 months!!!

So much going on I forgot that we had cement work going on at one of our rentals too! Our tenet did the work as he has a cement company. I have not seen it in person yet but it's looking good per the pictures.
A lot of fun going on right now... Sara is in Chicago looking into a possible investment, working on 2 LOCs (with many issues that keep coming up), and 1 property listed for sale (that I'm going to cancel right now...NOT a listing through Sara as it's in another state). Busy but I do enjoy!
