🌈 EXCUSE HERO OF THE DAY: Marsha P. Johnson
A trailblazing LGBTQ+ activist whose courage helped change history!
As a Black transgender woman living in a world that often marginalized her for who she was, Marsha faced countless Social Excuses placed on her by society. She experienced discrimination, poverty, violence, and exclusion, yet she refused to let any of those things define her worth or silence her voice. Marsha became one of the most recognizable figures of the LGBTQ+ rights movement and played a pivotal role in the fight for equality following the Stonewall Uprising in 1969. She spent her life advocating for those who were often overlooked, especially transgender youth, homeless LGBTQ+ individuals, and people living on the margins.
This Pride Month, we honor Marsha P. Johnson and the countless people who have fought for a world where everyone has the freedom to live authentically and proudly!
Because sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is refuse to become the excuse someone else expects you to be🏳️🌈⚧️👏🏿

🌎 Happy World Environment Day 🌎
Today we’re celebrating the one thing every single Excuse has in common: we all share this planet!
Protecting the Earth doesn’t require perfection. It starts with small choices. Picking up a piece of trash. Planting a flower. Recycling a bottle. Using less water. Choosing to leave a place a little better than you found it! At Excuse, we believe everyone has something that could hold them back. But we also believe every person has the power to make a difference.
No matter your Physical, Invisible, Circumstantial, or Social Excuse, your actions matter! The Earth doesn’t need a handful of people doing sustainability perfectly. It needs millions of people doing what they can. What’s one thing you’ll do today to help our planet? WHAT’S YOUR EXCUSE?! 🌱💙🌎

Happy Pride Month from Excuse✨🌈
This month is about celebrating people for exactly who they are!
No hiding.
No shrinking yourself.
No changing who you are to make other people comfortable.
At Excuse, we talk a lot about Social Excuses—the labels, judgments, and opinions that people try to place on others. Being LGBTQ+ should never be one of them.
Love who you love. Be who you are. Wear what makes you feel like yourself. Take up space. The world doesn’t need a watered-down version of you.
Here’s to living boldly, loving freely, and being unapologetically authentic❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Calling all Excuses👟🏋🏽♀️☎️
The ones who are scared to walk into the gym because they think everyone is looking at them.
The ones who keep saying they’ll start after they lose a few pounds.
The ones who are waiting until they feel more confident, more comfortable, or more ready.
The ones letting fear make the decisions.
We get it. Starting something new is terrifying. Putting yourself out there is terrifying. Being a beginner is terrifying! But the truth is, nobody starts out confident!
Confidence comes from showing up. From trying.
From doing the thing you’re scared of over and over until it doesn’t feel so scary anymore.
So, if your Excuse is fear, you’re not alone. Just don’t let it have the final say.

🌈🌊💙🧠💚Hello, June!
A new month means new opportunities to learn, grow, celebrate, and bring awareness to causes and communities that deserve to be seen and supported.
This month we’re recognizing:
🏳️🌈 Pride Month — celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, honoring its history, and continuing the fight for equality and acceptance.
🌴 National Caribbean American Heritage Month — recognizing the culture, history, achievements, and contributions of Caribbean Americans.
💙 Men’s Health Month — encouraging men to prioritize their physical and mental health, schedule checkups, and break the stigma around asking for help.
🧠 National PTSD Awareness Month — shining a light on trauma survivors, veterans, and anyone navigating the lasting effects of PTSD.
🌊 National Oceans Month — reminding us to protect our oceans, waterways, and the ecosystems that keep our planet thriving.
At Excuse, we believe awareness creates understanding, and understanding creates change. This month, let’s challenge ourselves to learn something new, support someone different from us, advocate for those who need a voice, and refuse to let ignorance be our Excuse. Because growth starts when we choose curiosity over judgment and action over Excuses✊🏼✨

Some people see tattoos and make assumptions. They see the ink before they see the person. They’ll call you unprofessional. Rebellious. Attention-seeking. Too much. And soon enough, they become a Social Excuse. But here’s the truth: your skin is not a community project. It’s not up for public approval.
Every tattoo tells a story. A memory. A loss. A victory. A piece of art. A reminder. Or sometimes… it’s simply something you loved enough to make permanent.
Calling all Excuses! If tattoos are your excuse, wear them proudly✊🏼 Your worth is not determined by how much ink is on your skin, and your character can’t be measured by someone else’s opinion🙅🏻♀️💬
The people who judge your tattoos without knowing your story are revealing more about themselves than they are about you. Your body. Your art. Your choice.
What’s YOUR Excuse? 🖤🎨

Mental health is an invisible Excuse but that does not mean it is an Excuse to hide or be ashamed of—it’s a part of being human and our human experience🌍🫱🏾🫲🏼Just like we care for a broken bone, a chronic illness, or any other physical Excuse, our minds deserve the same compassion, support, and attention. Yet so many people continue to suffer in silence because they’re afraid of judgment, misunderstanding, or being seen as weak😞
Calling all Excuses: if you’re struggling, reach out. If someone you love is struggling, listen. And if you’re fighting a battle no one else can see, know that your feelings are valid and your story matters! Taking care of your mental health isn’t giving up. It’s one of the bravest things you can do and when you share your Excuse, you’re giving someone else the courage to live proudly in theirs as well🤍

Some of the biggest Excuses we carry are comfort, fear, and routine. We stay inside the same cycles because they feel safe, even when they’re quietly draining the life out of us. But growth has never lived inside the familiar. We are calling all Excuses to try the thing that scares you a little! Dream bigger than you did yesterday! Take the road you keep talking yourself out of! Remember that there is still so much life waiting outside the routine you’ve convinced yourself you have to stay in. What’s Your Excuse? ✨

Never underestimate the power of a message✨ Sometimes the words printed across your chest become the words someone else desperately needed to hear that day. “It’s okay not to be okay.” “Mental health matters.” “What if it all works out?” Tiny reminders like these can reach people fighting silent battles you know nothing about. Anxiety. Depression. Grief. Fear. Exhaustion. Invisible Excuses that make simply getting through the day feel impossible.
Wear kindness loudly. Spread hope casually. Normalize conversations that remind people they are human, worthy, and not alone. You never know who is searching for a reason to keep going — and your message might become part of theirs. We are calling all Excuses to spread kindness loudly, wear hope proudly, and remind the world that mental health matters! Never underestimate the possibility that you could be someone’s Ultimate Excuse for the day🌈🤍😉

👋🏻May is Lupus Awareness Month
For many people, lupus becomes an Excuse the world tries to hand them. An excuse to slow down. An excuse to give up. An excuse to stop dreaming, stop showing up, or stop believing in themselves. But every single day, millions of people living with lupus wake up and continue on despite the pain, exhaustion, brain fog, medications, appointments, and invisible battles most people never see.
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that can attack healthy tissue throughout the body, causing inflammation, fatigue, joint pain, skin issues, organ complications, and unpredictable flares that can completely disrupt everyday life. Treatments like Hydroxychloroquine can help manage symptoms, but there is still no cure.
This month, we honor EVERY Excuse fighting through lupus and choosing to keep going anyway. Your condition does not make you weak. It makes your strength impossible to ignore. We see you and we stand with you this month and every month✊🏻🤍
