If you’ve had a baby, you may have heard of – severe bleeding after childbirth. While uncommon, it can become life-threatening without prompt treatment, which is why it’s important to recognize warning signs early. Across our broader HCA Healthcare network of care, more than 200,000 babies are delivered each year. Clinical data from those deliveries helps us identify and implement evidence-based practices to improve maternal and newborn outcomes. This includes reducing elective deliveries before 39 weeks, strengthening blood clot prevention and using medications to reduce the occurrence and severity of postpartum hemorrhage.
