I strongly recommend this book and the entire idea of how important is for all of us to breathe through our little nose😊🌻
Congratulations to our dear friend, Jacqui Barrett, for her first book!! She is bringing an important message into the world, through her dedication and absolutely contagious positive vibe 😊🥳

Critical thinking 🤓
Chess is not just a game!
“Chess is an evolved form of Chaturanga, a game played in the Gupta empire in 600AD. From India, it travelled to Persia and the middle east and then to Europe and then eventually evolved to its current form in around the 16th century.
Chess in itself is a reflection of one’s life displayed on an 8×8 black and white squared board. As cliché as it sounds, that’s what I have observed. Chess has always been a great source of learning for me. Apart from enhancing focus, creative skills, memory retention, there are many other benefits associated with this beautiful game.
Though chess comprises of only black and white boxes but learning from this game is as diverse as colours in a rainbow. For instance, sometimes in chess, you have to take a step back to attain a stronger position and thus teaching us a beautiful lesson of humility. Similarly, sometimes we have to sacrifice our pieces to launch an attack on the opponent king. Thus, it teaches us to always look at the bigger picture while incurring small losses and failures throughout our life.
Chess plays an important role in developing the leadership skills of an individual. The most important leadership lesson that I have learned is that you always have to protect your team. Like in chess, as the game progresses pieces develop and one must ensure that no piece is left hanging i.e. there must be some other piece defending it. So that the opponent cannot take that piece easily.
There is a saying in chess, “There are times when a well-placed pawn is more powerful than a king”. We should ensure that our pieces must be kept at the right positions at the right time thus giving another valuable lesson of team management. In chess, one has to think 3-4 moves ahead before making any move. It teaches us to give a thought before any act thus letting us know the importance of planning.
In Hindu mythology, it is believed that doing the right deeds (good karma) in current birth will give fruits in our next birth. The same can be seen in chess when a pawn reaches the last square of the opponent’s side it gets promoted to a higher piece teaching us that we should just keep walking despite the odds and when the right time comes, we get the fruit.
Being an avid chess lover, I am convinced of the fact that no other game requires such use of strategic thinking, creativity, memory, and logic as chess does. Blaise Pascal once said “Chess is the gymnasium of the mind”, and that’s the beauty of this game. Now taking a break from all this, I am going for another blitz game.”

Our Chemistry lesson was super fun and relaxed!
Having them building with “atoms” while you teach the lesson, is a wonderful way to help them remember how fun Chemistry can be, even if it’s not an easy subject🤓
Yes! They were paying attention to the lesson … I tested them a couple of times🤭
