This is a LONG post in is regards to House Bill 184 - Abolishing the Board of Cosmetology in KY

If the state board of cosmetology were to be closed and beauty services became unregulated, it could lead to a range of potential issues. What this boils down to is :

• ANYONE can offer these services with no license, schooling, trainings, or inspections.

• Professionals will no longer have an active license to purchase professional grade products

• Pricing will no longer be based off of experience & product cost (due to having cheap products & supplies)

• Nobody will be inspecting salons/spas for sanitary measures

• Beauty schools will be shut down as they will no longer be required to receive a license (because there won’t be any more licensing)
