Flash flooding from excessive rainfall remains possible across portions of northeast, south central, and southeast Kentucky, including Martin, Laurel, Whitley, Bell, Clay, Floyd, Harlan, Knott, Knox, Leslie, Letcher, Perry, and Pike. Heavy rounds through the night may cause flooding. Watch for river and creek rises, especially in low areas. Until 6 AM EDT Tuesday.

Time Extended - Flood Watch. Flash flooding from excessive rainfall remains possible across portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, southwest Virginia, and West Virginia through Tuesday morning. Locally heavy rain of 1-2 inches, higher in spots, may cause flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and low areas. Areas hit last week are most vulnerable. Turn around, don’t drown.

Thunderstorms are expected to become more widespread and stronger over the next couple of hours. Scattered damaging wind gusts, isolated hail, and perhaps a tornado are possible through the evening. Areas to watch include the region where storms are developing, especially from around 3:00 PM EDT onward.
