Anna Clark will be leading a service exploring the impact of social media on our lives and communities. Drawing from her own lifelong experience with social media, she has spent time examining how these platforms shape our relationships, attention, well-being, and sense of connection. Through a thoughtful look at research, cultural assumptions, and the promises made by social media companies, Anna will share reflections and tentative conclusions about how we might build healthier and more intentional relationships with social media in ourselves and our communities.

May 10th, we will celebrate beauty, community, and connection at our annual Flower Communion Service. Bring a flower if you can—extras will be available—and take home a different one as a symbol of shared community and diversity. This Sunday’s service will be led by Jo Leary.
The Flower Communion service was created by Norbert Čapek (1870-1942), who founded the Unitarian Church in Czechoslovakia. He introduced this special service to that church on June 4, 1923. For some time he had felt the need for some symbolic ritual that would bind people more closely together. The format had to be one that would not alienate those who had forsaken other religious traditions. Join us for CVVU's version of this service.
Meet at 10:00 in person at CVUU 596 E 900 N in Logan or online through Zoom on Sunday at 10:00 AM.

Trans people are showing us that a different world is possible.
A world where gender is not confined, but alive with possibility.
This affirmation from Rev. Jami Yandle, UUA’s Transgender Support Specialist, honors the beauty, courage, and truth of trans lives—lived out loud, even when the world makes that hard.
May we listen to and learn from trans people.
May we follow the leadership of trans and nonbinary communities.
May we help create the conditions where trans people can live, thrive, and shape the world as themselves.
Read the full affirmation at the link in the comments.

On April 19th, we will celebrate Earth Day at CVUU by listening to Jack Greene.
Jack continues to have a global reach through his outdoor activities with the International Friends Program where he schools our USU international students on the nuances of our incredible natural landscapes from the Yellowstone Ecosystem to southern Utah's Colorado Pleateau and Mojave desert bioregions. Additionally, he is working with his second high school project in rural Tanzania- Tanganyika Modern Secondary STEAM School, in rural Tanzania. His first project was the Gombe School of Environment and Sustainability near the Gombe Stream National Park where he and his students met the late Jane Goodhall. Both schools have a strong environmental/sustainability emphasis in their curriculum. Jack serves on many local/regional boards and groups committed to preserve and restore our natural systems that we all rely on.
