Over the winter I made some cute tassel earrings. These are allergy-friendly, made with fully gold earring hooks.

I’m selling them at the Henry County Farmer's Market tomorrow for $5.

If you can’t make it to the Farmer’s Market, but would still like a pair, just send me a message, and I’ll be happy to deliver or mail your pair. 🙂

🌿 Fun Facts About Tiger Lilies! 🐅🧡

Tiger lilies are some of the most eye-catching flowers in the summer garden. With their bright orange blooms, distinctive black spots, and incredible ability to multiply, it’s easy to see why gardeners have loved them for generations.

Did you know tiger lilies can reproduce without seeds? Tiny bulbils form where the leaves meet the stem, drop to the ground, and grow into brand-new plants. They’re also hardy perennials that return year after year, often producing dozens of blooms on a single stem!

Whether you’re growing them for their bold color, pollinator appeal, or easy-care nature, tiger lilies bring beauty and a touch of wild charm to any garden.

🌿 AHS Hosta Convention Garden Tour 🌿
Clarence Hanna has an impressive place!

Clarence has huge hostas! Hostas don’t grow this large in hot and humid GA, so this was a treat to behold! I was astounded by the size of these things!

What thrilled me, was that Clarence operates very similarly to me in that homesteads/farms in addition to growing hostas!

He has chickens, to whom he throws his hosta culls, and honeybees, and cats.

He has a pollinator garden filled with beautiful poppies! I love poppies, but they don’t grow here.

There’s even a plot of land behind him in which food usually grows!

Because of the similarities, I thoroughly enjoyed Clarence’s garden tour!

Hostas make the perfect foundation plant for shade gardens, but pairing them with companion plants adds even more color, texture, and seasonal interest. This simple corner garden design combines bold hosta foliage with astilbe, bleeding heart, brunnera, coral bells, and ferns to create a lush, layered landscape that looks beautiful from spring through fall.

Whether you’re starting a new shade bed or refreshing an existing one, this design offers a low-maintenance way to turn an overlooked corner into a garden focal point.

🌱🐅 Tiger Lily vs. Daylily — Do You Know the Difference? 🌸

They may look similar at first glance, but tiger lilies and daylilies are actually very different plants!

🧡 Tiger Lilies
• True lilies (Lilium)
• Bright orange blooms with dark spots
• Petals curl backward
• Produce black bulbils along the stem
• Individual blooms last several days

💛 Daylilies
• Hemerocallis species
• Available in countless colors and forms
• Each bloom lasts just one day
• Grow in clumps from the base
• Multiply by division, not bulbils

Both are beautiful, hardy perennials that deserve a place in the garden. Which one is your favorite?

🐜🦗FRIEND 🐝🐞
Wheel bug nymph (or as I like to call nymphs, teenagers).

The characteristic wheel is not yet formed on its back.

Wheel bugs are assassin bugs, they eat other insects. So if you find one in your garden, keep it around! It’s a friend.
