Why have I never thought of this?

For long weekend shows.
So like a roll in on Friday, show Saturday and then travel home on Sunday.
Every one knows how bad a car load of dirty travel cage trays smell by Sunday morning. Also considering limited space (as I drive a Ranger)
I set my trays with a p*e pad, fine shaving and PDZ. I don’t often have room for a bag of shavings and I really don’t even need that much.
I use a food scoop to scoop out my shavings. I counted how many it takes. I put that much plus 1 scoop extra in a gallon bag.
Bam! I have exactly what I need and saves space.
Y’all totally going to be a convention show/ pack travel hack from now on.

Only 10 weeks and sets himself, also I’m not mad about that high point

Okay so literally insane, crazy show day!
In 6 years of showing I have never had the same breed on a table at the same time.
Different breeds yes, same breed NEVER!
Well, that happened today!
Commercial show on one side and open- on the other side!
Yep new level of I have no idea what’s happening! But although I’ll have to wait for show reports to really know how my open rabbits did, I do know how my meat pens did!
And I’m sure that’s the big question, “so how did the “meat pen” do?
Um!
First place - meat pen
2nd and 3rd single fryer.
2nd stewer.
Best part- all show fees and gas covered by winnings!

Well this is what it is! They still have 2 more days till show. I would rather a little more weight, it’s summer and I’ll take it.
It’s summer and they don’t eat as well, and start eating well a little later than say spring or fall .
But they are in weight and pretty consistent , so I’m gonna roll with it.
Meat pen August 2026!
For the record, I’ll never do a meat pen this time of year again.

So… I did post this on a commercial breeder group and got totally so many yay and nays.
It’s kind of a debate in the commercial realm right now. But this is something Ive talked about to several breeders before. I’ve worked for this for a while, even with my meat mixes . I’ve been told that judges will calm them “flat”
It’s now defined in the ARBA standard as “ desirable”
Honestly my rabbits with this feel so much fuller in the hips.
