Exciting new updates to our early education programs! 🍎📚

This fall, the Kenan Center's early childhood education programs are moving into the new Kenan Civic Arena with some exciting updates for families!

Our Montessori classroom, led by Ms. Anzalone, continues as a half-day program. Joining it is a brand-new full-day Early Childhood classroom running 8:15 AM to 3:00 PM, led by Ms. Alison Tweedie.

Ms. Tweedie brings years of experience as a preschool teacher, education specialist, and Special Education Teacher. Her classroom draws from the Reggio Emilia philosophy, with a focus on art, nature, child-led discovery, and social-emotional development.

The two classrooms will sit side by side, and families enrolled in the full-day program can choose to spend mornings in Montessori with Ms. Anzalone before transitioning to Ms. Tweedie's classroom, or spend the full day with Ms. Tweedie.

We are thrilled to offer families access to two outstanding educational environments led by highly qualified educators. By bringing together Montessori and Reggio-inspired approaches, we believe children will have even more opportunities to learn, create, explore, and grow.

Calling all Shakespeareans! 🎭WNY’s best FREE outdoor theatre event of the summer is ONE MONTH AWAY!

Ranging from the histories, to the tragedies, and to the comedies, Shakespeare in Delaware Park has been entertaining WNY audiences for nearly 50 years, as high-quality public theatre to enrich, educate, and entertain through the works of the iconic playwright William Shakespeare. With stories and characters that have remained immortal in the Western canon and in our hearts, Shakespeare’s works have remained a cornerstone of English literature for hundreds of years.

Join us this July 22, 2026, at the Kenan Center’s outdoor stage in Daisy’s Garden to watch their performance of “Shakespeare’s Fools & Foes”. This is a show which features several selected scenes of Shakespeare’s most iconic “fools” and “foes” who brought his plays to life. Fast-paced and family-friendly, this is the perfect summer evening activity for all ages to enjoy!

Just bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy the show!

Our FREE outdoor concert series is only 3 WEEKS AWAY! 🎶 🎸Whether you're an avid listener of country, folk, rock, soul, funk, or disco, there's a musical genre for everyone at Music in the Gardens at the Kenan Center!

Concerts will take place every Friday evening at 7pm, running from 7/17 through 8/21. This is a free and all-ages event, so bring the whole family, plus lawn chairs, blankets, friends, and kids are all welcome! Paired with a beer tent on site, a rotating selection of food trucks, and ample free parking - your Friday nights are complete!

THIS SATURDAY 6/27 is COMBINE DAY for our Summer Leagues! ⚽️🏈 The Kenan Soccer League (powered by MLS Go) and the Kenan Flag Football League (powered by NFL Flag) will kick off the summer with this chance for participants to meet their fellow players and coaches! Attendance is important for the best experience possible, so we hope to see you there!

This past weekend, our Camp Counselors and Coach-Mentors came together for summer training! Staff spent time reviewing policies, procedures, and expectations, while also participating in team-building activities, icebreakers, and games to prepare for a fun and successful summer.

We are incredibly excited about the team we have assembled this year. This group is passionate about creating safe, welcoming, fun, and inclusive spaces where children can learn, grow, build relationships, and make lasting memories. We can't wait to get started!⚽️🏈☀️
