Tomorrow being Flag Day, please take a moment to remember the importance of the Stars and Stripes. It is not just a piece of colored cloth. It represents our home, our families and friends and our community. It was fought for thru many conflicts and wars, it was a beacon to our service members showing them the way home and it would drape the coffins of our fallen who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Remember, and please teach our youth or this knowledge will end with us.

We would like to acknowledge and thank all of our sisters-in-arms.

Comrades, a friendly reminder that our monthly meeting is Wednesday, June 10th, and we will start at 5:30 to acknowledge our award recipients as well as this year's youth scholarships. We hope to see everyone there at 5:30.

This past Sunday, our VFW Auxiliary had a display of all the artwork received for their annual Young American Patriotic Art Contest. What a wonderful collection they showed! Children as young as kindergarten and as old as 11th grade participated.
Congratulations to all the winners and a huge THANK YOU to our auxiliary for all they do!!

The VFW would like to thank all those that planned, participated and showed up for our Memorial Day events. Today and tomorrow are days to remember our friends…our fallen. It was beautiful to see our community come out in full force and in true fashion to remember.
We are so proud of all those involved in planning these events and to all that precipitated. As always, a thank you to the Navy/Marine Club, The Elks Lodge, the American Legion, LPD, The Barge Optimist Club and the City of Lockport. A special thank you to Pocket Change, the Hot Country Line Dancers, Every Other Monday, House of Munch, Roast Beast, the Vintage Vine, and the Penalty Box for making our after party a success.
There are no words to explain how grateful and proud we are of all we accomplished today.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers that helped out with our VFW Day of Service. Our volunteers cleaned up at Veterans Memorial Park, put down fresh mulch, and planted new flowers.
