Today is Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Awareness Day, highlighting tax refunds like the EITC and Child Tax Credit that puts money back in your pocket.

If you earned $69,000 or less, you may be eligible to have your federal and state taxes e-filed for free*.

These refunds can help you manage expenses such as housing, food, childcare, transportation, utilities, and education. For many families, these refunds are the largest single financial resource they receive all year.

In response to the ongoing winter storm, New York State Governor Kathy Hochul has expanded the State of Emergency statewide, including Erie County.

Lake effect snow is expected to continue off the shores of Lake Erie for the majority of the week, and while winds are expected to subside to 30-40 mph, whiteout conditions remain a possibility in parts of WNY on Tuesday.
