Inteplast Building Products recently completed this year’s Home Depot Building Materials Foundation event which focused on building training grounds and working areas for some of the United States Marine’s most trusted companions: dogs.

At the United States Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California, the K9 training facility and the Guard House were updated with the assistance of Inteplast Group, other companies, and staff from The Home Depot Foundation.

This camp, which is home to 38,000 military family members, is also where bomb-sniffing and enemy detection canines get their skills sharpened. Here, they safely participate in combat drills and training. In addition, teams built housing for disabled dogs that have been injured during conflict. More than 250 dogs can be deployed at any given time.

According to Craig Miles, Building Products Director of Sales and Marketing, the group of vendors participating in the project “donated over $6 million to The Home Depot Foundation.

The primary projects are building adaptive housing for returning disabled veterans and helping homeless veterans get off the streets.”
