We would like to say farewell to an extraordinary person & teacher as she begins a new chapter—RETIREMENT! 🍎 WOO-HOO!!!

For 26 years (22 in Florida, 4 in South Dakota), Becky Skipper has poured her heart into her students, inspired a love of learning, and made a difference in countless lives. Her kindness, dedication, and passion for education have forever left a lasting mark on our school family.

Even though we will miss her presence in the hallways and classrooms, we are grateful for the legacy she leaves behind and our many memories together.

Congratulations Skip, on your retirement! May your days ahead be filled with happiness, adventure, relaxation (even though we know you’re not going to slow down😉) and all the things you’ve put on hold while caring for others.

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

Summer isn’t just a break for students. It’s a time for them to grow independence and confidence at home. Here are some ideas and what it might look like in real life for kids:

✔️ Taking care of belongings
✔️ Reading 15–20 minutes a day for fun
✔️ Practicing money skills & simple math in real life
✔️ Learning to prepare simple snacks
✔️ Learning their address & phone number
✔️ Practicing kindness & manners
✔️ Spending active time outside every day
✔️ Balancing screen time with real-world activities
✔️ Spending quality time with family and friends
✔️ Helping with family chores
✔️ Learning something new (art, science, a hobby)

And remember, practice makes progress and mistakes are okay.

Small steps now = big life skills later!

Our school family is proud to celebrate one of our teachers, Kelsey Leighton on earning her degree 🎓 Her commitment to growth and learning reflects the very best of what we value in education.

Her degree is in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education. Her ultimate plan is to work with Pre-K special needs students to help them succeed in general educational settings. She is very optimistic about what this coming year holds for her.

We are so proud of you Kelsey and can’t wait to see all you continue to achieve! 💚

Who had more fun?

1st-5th grade students received tickets for their growth and gains to dunk-a-teacher. Lots of laughter and fun was had by everyone! Thanks to our amazing P.E. department and staff for making this day super cool! ☀️😎

Mrs. Leathlean’s 2nd Grade Class celebrated the end of the year by having a cookout! 3rd Grade, here we come! 🌭🍉❤️
