Beyond Sunday Podcast — Episode 1 “The Art of Forgiveness”
Featuring Pastor Brad & Johnny Lee
Forgiveness is one of the most talked-about commands in Scripture — and one of the hardest to actually live out. In the first episode of Beyond Sunday, Pastor Brad and Johnny Lee pick up where Sunday’s message at Praise Church left off and take it somewhere most sermons don’t have time to go.
This isn’t a theology lecture. It’s a real conversation between two guys who’ve to forgive people they didn’t want to forgive — and figure out what it actually looks like when Jesus says you don’t have a choice.
They’ll wrestle with the hard questions: What do you do when forgiveness feels like letting someone off the hook? How do you forgive when there’s been no apology? What’s the difference between forgiving someone and trusting them again? And what does it cost you when you don’t?
Drawing from the week’s message and their own lives, Pastor Brad and John bring the pulpit into the everyday — the broken relationships, the unresolved tension, the grudges that quietly take up space. The kind of stuff that sits in your chest on a Tuesday afternoon.
Beyond Sunday exists for exactly this moment — to take what was preached and ask what it looks like on Monday morning. This episode is the perfect one to send to a friend, share in a small group, or sit with on your commute when you know there’s someone you’ve been avoiding forgiving. The command is clear. The path is messier. Let’s talk about it.

We reflect God's heart not by condemning people or trying to fix them, but by welcoming people and creating spaces where they can encounter the love of God.

THE WOMAN EVERYONE WANTED OUT OF THE ROOM
Simon the Pharisee, a well respected teacher of the law, invites Jesus to dinner.
In that culture, meals were public social moments, so others could show up, stand around the fringes, and listen in on the conversations happening.
So it's in that setting that a woman hears Jesus is there, and suddenly she walks in.
Luke describes her as a sinful woman from the city, and apparently everybody knew her reputation.
The moment she enters, the room shifts. You can almost feel the tension, the whispering.
This is a rabbi. This is Simon's dinner. And yet Jesus allows her near Him.
Holiness was often defined by separation, so keeping this woman away would've been seen as the holy thing to do.
But Jesus consistently moved toward broken people, not because He approved of her sin, but because grace always moves toward people in need.
