Today we honor the mothers out there.
The ones up early and the ones up all night. The ones whose kids are grown, the ones still waiting, the ones who longed for children that didn’t come. The ones who lost theirs too soon and the ones grieving their own mothers today. The ones who mother without the title and the ones who showed us what love looks like. The ones still learning.
For some of you, today is joy. For some, it’s ache. For some, it’s both. We see you, we love you, and we thank God for you today.

Have you ever watched someone who just keeps showing up for the people they love, and wondered how they do it without running out?
What they understand is specific. We’re walking through it piece by piece.
Ruth: Refusing to Let One Another Disappear, Sunday 10am
04/28/2026
Ruth was a widow with empty hands and no future. She went out hoping to gather what someone else had left behind.
What she didn’t know: the field she stumbled into was already full. Already had a redeemer in it. Already had grain set aside for her by hands she’d never see.
That field is a picture of where the supply for the people in your life actually comes from.
You have a field: a job, a marriage, a Tuesday morning, a season you didn’t choose. A Redeemer is already in it, leaving you something. You just have to look.
When you look around your field and gather up his faithfulness, you gain something to offer others’ emptiness.

Before you can stay beside someone who’s disappearing, you have to understand what’s happening to them.
Grief has a way of renaming us.
It takes a person who used to be pleasant and rewrites them as bitter. Out loud. In front of everyone. And if you don’t understand that renaming from the inside, you’ll try to correct it instead of standing next to it.
Sunday, we looked at what it costs to stand beside it. Tomorrow’s ‘Look Again’ digs into how that renaming works.

There’s a pattern to the way we create distance.
Once you see it, you know how to stay next to the people you love.
Naomi uses all four of these to try to convince Ruth away in Ruth chapter 1. Deflection. Reasoning. Social proof. God-talk. Every one of them sounds noble. That’s what makes them so hard to spot.
But what appear to be exit ramps may very well be statements of hope you’ll stay.

In hard seasons, people have a tendency to disappear. You’ve seen it happen to someone you love, and you may have felt it yourself.
What if you were the one who didn’t disappear?
New series starts Sunday 10am.

Make room.
Not when everything’s figured out or when the timing is right. Now, in the fading part, the uncertain part, the part where you’ve mostly stopped asking.
That’s where Jesus does his best work.

Yesterday two disciples walked the same road twice.
Once in despair, and once on fire. Nothing about their circumstances changed. Everything about their interpretation did.
Seven miles in one direction, convinced it was over. Seven miles back, knowing it wasn’t.
That’s what a risen Savior does.
