As we come to the close of Mental Health Awareness Month, we recognize the challenges and realities facing youth across Arkansas. While these truths can be difficult, there’s also reason for hope—with our new partnership with Youth Mental Health Corps, young Arkansans will have the opportunity to lead change from within their own communities.

Launching in August 2026, the Youth Mental Health Corps will equip young people with the tools to support their peers and advocate for better mental health outcomes.

We love celebrating AmeriCorps Volunteers at the end of their service!

So glad that part of our team could attend and share more about traditional and non-traditional ways to use the Segal AmeriCorps Education Awards.

Did you know that AmeriCorps State & National Volunteers over 55 can transfer their award to a child, foster child, stepchild, or grandchild?

There are so many great reasons to serve with AmeriCorps, and we’ll be recruiting for a new service year soon!

Did you know that AmeriCorps service could include ecological restoration? Nothing like getting hands-on experience and learning about native species along the way.

Meet Lithobates sphenocephalus utricularius or the Coastal Plains Leopard Frog. 🐆🐸

It gets its name from the leopard like spots that will be on every one of these frogs. This native species is common throughout the state of Arkansas. They can be found in temporary ponds, woodland pools, wet meadows, and lake edges with dense plant life. Our Engage AR OCC crew was lucky to spot this little one at Lake Conway AR.

Our contribution to restoring this lake will provide more habitat for these loved natives. Click the link in the bio if you want to read more about this project.

What starts as service can become something much bigger.

Across Arkansas, AmeriCorps members are using education awards and university partnerships to move from community impact to long-term careers in public leadership.

If you’re interested in how service can open doors to education and careers, this is worth a read.
