We love natural light! Drywall is hung and finishing has begun. This is the step where we really get a feel for the rooms. Ample natural light and high ceilings make this jewel box live large. Trim and interior doors come next!

Bricked? Check. Air and water sealed? You bet! We're aiming for Zero Energy Ready and Energy Star certifications. The preliminary air tightness test says it will be close to meeting passive house airtightness! Delivered? Reach out and make it yours.

It's C/O day! We have a few finishing touches but we've cleared the last inspection hurdle. We'll get more pics up soon to show off this beautiful new home - once we tidy things up a bit. Huzzah!

Everywhere we go, we hear of the challenges that teachers face in finding homes. We hear it from new teachers who have to take on long commutes to find a home or apartment that is within their budget and high enough quality to meet their expectations. We hear it from school districts that have lost new teacher contracts because of the lack of attainable, quality housing in their community.

The Texan author of the linked piece advocates for small homes and granny flats. Little Rock has already taken action to expand opportunities for the development of back houses and granny flats. We're a step ahead of Texas, but what do you think we can do to ensure housing options for new teachers? New and soon-to-be teachers, what do you want in a home/neighborhood near your first teaching job?

Please share your experiences. We want to hear from you.
