Haiti Christian Development Project
HCDP supports self-sustaining development projects to promote spiritual and physical well-being in the Artibonite Valley, Haiti.
Purpose
Haiti Christian Development Project serves as a partner with local Haitian Christians to bolster their spiritual strength by reducing physical burdens. Only in very dire situations is relief given. Instead, nationals are encouraged to improve their own lives through agricultural and business training, through literacy training, preventative health care teaching, provision and development

❤️A prayer for displaced families❤️
Pray for the more than 1.4 million Haitians who have been forced from their homes — that they find safety, shelter, and community in the places they have fled to. Pray that families separated by violence would be reunited, and that those living in overcrowded displacement sites would experience dignity and care.

🌸 The May newsletter is out! 🌸
The work of HCDP has never been more important – and stressed. Food insecurity affects up to 50% of people in the Artibonite Valley. Gonaïves is taxed by this (as is HCDP).
We are asking that you please donate to HCDP so that we can help with refugee displacement and food supplies.

46 refugees from Dessalines have been staying in a previously empty farm dormitory and on the bottom floor of the first house on the farm. We are so thankful to those that help HCDP care for the needy children and adults from different villages in Dessalines.
Please donate if you can: https://hcdp.kindful.com/

For many years, Pacius has selected the best speakers for our weekly radio program. Telling the story of Jesus to the rural areas of Haiti’s Artibonite Valley is one of the important works of HCDP. Beyond schools and clinics, HCDP trains local evangelists – including men who preach Jesus on the radio. Their voices carry hope into villages no preacher could regularly reach.

In a country where there is little rain, an important part of the HCDP agricultural education is learning about water conservation. Here, Pacius works with the students preparing raised beds with drip irrigation lines installed.

Another photo of the refugee children. As we continue both the steady work of development and the unexpected mercies that come to our door, we invite you to keep this ministry in your prayers – and, as you are able, to help us sustain the resources that make responses like this possible.

This week, 21 undernourished children and 5 of their parents arrived at our development farm after fleeing gang violence in Dessalines, just 18 miles away. Caring for displaced children isn’t our primary mission, but moments like these remind us that compassion sometimes requires flexibility. Because of your generosity, we were able to welcome them, provide nourishment, and offer a safe place to rest.
