Today, our department mourns the heartbreaking loss of Officer Kristen Yeager, who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to a call for service on May 29, 2026.

Officer Yeager served our community with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication. She answered the call to protect and serve each day, placing the safety of others above her own. Her commitment to her badge, her fellow officers, and the citizens she served will never be forgotten.

We ask that you keep Officer Yeager’s family, friends, and our entire law enforcement family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Officer Yeager. Your watch has ended, but your legacy of service and sacrifice will live on forever. We got it from here.

The LBPD is pleased to welcome Officer Luis Castillo to the LBPD team! Officer Castillo was sworn-in at the May 26, 2026 Lititz Borough Council meeting by the Hon. Mayor John George. Officer Castillo's first day with the LBPD is Monday, June 1, 2026 when he will begin in the LBPD's field training program.

About Officer Castillo:

Officer Castillo has dedicated his career to public and military service since entering law enforcement in 2018, following his graduation from the Delaware County Community College Municipal Police Academy. Throughout his career, Officer Castillo has served several communities and agencies, including the Delaware County Courthouse and Park Police, the Bethel Township Police Department in Delaware County, the Morton Borough Police Department, and the Ridley Park Borough Police Department. In addition to his law enforcement career, Officer Castillo is a proud member of the Pennsylvania National Guard, stationed at Fort Indiantown Gap. Serving since 2015, he currently holds the rank of Platoon Sergeant for a helicopter maintenance company. In this role, he oversees the maintenance of UH-60 Blackhawk and CH-47 Chinook helicopters. His military service also includes an oversees deployment from 2020 to 2021.

Officer Castillo's diverse professional background also extends to aviation research and development. He previously worked with the Piasecki Aircraft Corporation, where his responsibilities included manufacturing, maintaining, and participating in test flights for experimental aircraft.

The LBPD is proud to welcome Officer Castillo to the ranks of the Lititz Borough Police Department.
