Rogue From Within

For generations, society has too often portrayed Puerto Rican women and women of color through limited roles—the maid, the housekeeper, the domestic worker, the “help.”

Mama Jenny tells a different story.

She represents the Puerto Rican matriarchs who built.

The women who raised families, built careers, started businesses, held communities together, opened doors for the next generation, and carried culture forward with pride.

She is warm, but she is strong.
She is nurturing, but she has her own dreams.
She is stylish, confident, accomplished, and deeply rooted in her heritage.

Mama Jenny is not defined by what society expected her to be.

She is defined by what she built.

Through her, I want to celebrate a fuller picture of our matriarchs—the women whose strength, sacrifice, wisdom, ambition, love, and determination helped shape generations.

Mama Jenny is the woman behind the family, the career, the community, and the legacy.

She reminds us that our stories are bigger than the roles history gave us.

We are the builders. We are the legacy. 🇵🇷❤️

Breaking Free!

Sofia Rivera's journey is a shining example of the power of representation, showcasing a strong, dynamic character with a clear sense of identity and personal style. When my child says 'that's me', it's a proud moment, underscoring the need for diverse stories that inspire women to embrace their individuality and reach their full potential.

My very first book, Will You Be My Valentine?, is now available at the Lancaster Public Library.

Growing up, the library always felt like a special place to me. It was quiet, safe, full of possibility. I could wander through stories and imagine anything. I didn’t realize it then, but those shelves were planting seeds.

When I became a mom, bringing my kids to the library just felt natural. It was something I knew they would love — story times, picking out stacks of books, letting their imaginations run wild. It was simply part of how I wanted to raise them.

But I never imagined that one day I would be writing my own children’s books… and working in a library.

And now, my story is sitting on those shelves.

Life has a beautiful way of coming full circle. The little girl who once wandered those aisles is now an author whose book gets to be discovered by another child.

If you’re in Lancaster, stop by and check it out. My heart is so full. 💕📚

My other books will be available soon for check out at Lancaster Public Library.

Today, I sit in gratitude as I reflect on who I was, where I've been, and who I am becoming.
My mind keeps going back to that cold day in October 2014, stepping off the Amtrak in Pennsylvania with $50 in my pocket, a 7-year-old and a 6-year-old by my side. They had already been through so much in their short lives challenges most don't face in a lifetime. I took a risk I fully didn't understand at that time. God carried me... and He carried those babies, too. I couldn't see it then, but looking back now, I see nothing but grace.
It's funny how, in the unknown, life still shows up for us; all we have to do is take that step.
I really do need to write this memoir one day✨.
Let me know in the comments what's a good title.
