🎶 The music never stopped and the fun never missed a beat during our first annual Music Festival at St. John's Herr Estate - A Luthercare Community!

From classic musical films and sing-alongs to sharing favorite memories inspired by songs through the decades, the week was filled with harmony, laughter, and plenty of toe-tapping fun.

The celebration hit all the right notes with a relaxing Wine & Cheese Mixer featuring live entertainment from Sweet Life Music, our monthly Hymn Sing filled with familiar favorites, and a special performance by Executive Director Matt featuring songs all about time. Together, these moments created the perfect soundtrack for a memorable week.

Thank you to everyone who joined the festivities and helped make our first Music Festival such a chart-topping success. 💙🎼

Nothing says summer quite like our annual Resident Picnic! 🧺☀️

Yesterday, Luther Acres - A Luthercare Community residents gathered together to enjoy an afternoon filled with great food, great company, and plenty of summer spirit. The menu featured all the backyard barbecue favorites, from pulled pork and BBQ chicken to macaroni and cheese and baked potatoes—all prepared by our incredible dining team, who truly outdid themselves.

More than just a delicious meal, the picnic was an opportunity for residents to connect with friends, meet new neighbors, and celebrate the vibrant community that residents are proud to call home. It was also a wonderful opportunity for our team members to spend time with residents, share conversations, and strengthen the meaningful relationships that are at the heart of community life. 💙

We’re so grateful for days like these that bring everyone together, create lasting memories, and kick off the summer season in the best way! 🌻

📬 Postcard #1 from Two Friends, Five Lakes, Endless Memories has arrived!

Greetings from the road! Debby and Ruth have spent their first three days exploring new places, reconnecting with old friends, and taking in some unforgettable sights.

Their first stop was Leonard Harrison State Park, where they took in breathtaking views of Pennsylvania’s Grand Canyon and enjoyed a picnic lunch before continuing west. That evening, they made a stop for fresh brews and dinner before settling in for the night in Ohio.

Day two brought a visit to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, followed by a scenic drive into Indiana.

On day three, Debby returned to her alma mater, Valparaiso University, including a visit to the largest collegiate chapel in the country, The Chapel of the Resurrection. The day also featured a special reunion with a former college classmate and field hockey teammate she had not seen in more than 45 years.

Their adventures continued at Indiana Dunes National Park, where they caught their first glimpse of Lake Michigan, the first of the five Great Lakes they will encounter on this journey.

More memories are already in the making as Debby and Ruth continue their adventure across the Great Lakes and we look forward to sharing them with you! 💙

Fresh strawberries, shortcake, ice cream, whipped cream, raffle baskets, and plenty of smiles made for a berry sweet afternoon at Luther Acres - A Luthercare Community on Saturday! 🍓🍰

Our annual Strawberry Festival brought residents, families, team members, and friends together to celebrate the start of summer and enjoy one of our favorite traditions. From serving up strawberry shortcake to browsing raffle prizes from local businesses, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

As a resident-led fundraiser, the Strawberry Festival supports the charitable activities of the Luther Acres Residents' Council, making every scoop and every ticket purchased even more meaningful.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this year's event. It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying the afternoon together and helping make the festival another sweet success! 💙

This morning, Luther Acres - A Luthercare Community residents Debby and Ruth hit the road to start their month-long adventure, Two Friends, Five Lakes, Endless Memories!

Over the next several weeks, they’ll travel thousands of miles as they visit all five Great Lakes and explore some incredible destinations along the way. From scenic shorelines and charming towns to unforgettable sights and experiences, this is a trip they’ve been looking forward to for a long time.

And the best part? They’re bringing us along for the ride!

Inspired by her mother's experience with cerebral aneurysms and memory loss, Diane Francis learned early on the importance of patience, compassion, and understanding. Those qualities are at the heart of the work she does each day as Personal Care Activities Director at Luther Acres - A Luthercare Community.

Diane is passionate about creating meaningful experiences that bring residents together, spark laughter, and encourage connection. One of her favorite memories this year was helping residents design their own Easter hats before hosting a fun photo shoot complete with colorful backdrops, props, and plenty of smiles.

For Diane, the most rewarding part of her work is building relationships with residents, learning their stories, and finding new ways to keep them engaged. Seeing residents smile, laugh, and ask, "What are we doing today?" reminds her that she's making a difference.

Two generations, one unforgettable day on the farm 🌱🐣

Today marked our first Intergenerational Day at The Wittel Farm, where residents from Luther Acres - A Luthercare Community and children from Luthercare for Kids Annville spent the morning exploring, learning, and getting their hands dirty together!

From meeting worms and chicks up close to planting potatoes, composting, scattering seeds, and harvesting lettuce, everyone played a part in bringing the farm to life. The morning wrapped up with a wagon ride around the farm and a chance to enjoy the fruits of their teamwork.

It was wonderful to see the different generations we serve come together to learn from one another, try something new, and build connections through shared experiences. 💙🤍
