This brand-new R9 came in needing more than just an exhaust sound. After dialing in the fueling to a precise 13.0 AFR and optimizing the ignition mapping on our Dynojet 250i, the results speak for themselves.

This 2019 KTM 500 EXC-F came in running dangerously lean, with AFRs climbing to nearly 18:1 under load. That’s not a recipe for power, reliability, or engine longevity.

After installing the Vortex ECU and dialing in the fueling on the dyno, we brought AFR down to a much safer 13:1, resulting in:
