This one is a hard goodbye. To both the sport of track and to Nebraska. Even though it’s hard to walk away ending my career with a bad fall in my last championship race when you ask me about my time here, I’d tell you about the people.

This place gave me all my best friends and memories that I’ll hold onto forever. To be surrounded by so much constant love and support makes all the difference in a sport that can take so much from you, but on the flip side it will also give you so much. A risk I would say is worth taking :)

I’m proud to be leaving as having been a Nebraska Team Captain and etching my name in the record books in the indoor 5k and outdoor 3k steeplechase. I can’t say you’ll ever catch me racing the steeplechase again but maybe a marathon in a year or two. We’ll see…focusing on walking for now.

Goodbye Nebraska, thank you for giving me the best 5 years. I wouldn’t change it for the world.
