Why should you have renters insurance?
Take me for example one time the hot water heater broke water went everywhere. My linens were destroyed. The rental was temporary. and we did not have rental insurance, my linens, some antique furniture that we were storing in the basement near the hot water heater were ruined. Not only didn't we have hot water for a few days but we lost a few thousand dollars worth of our property.
Renters insurance would have helped. The sad part is that after the fact I learned that renters insurance is cheap.
