Our mission is to create an environment for new business development, to promote and nurture existing business and to facilitate the creation of new jobs in Allen County. This cooperative effort of the public and private sectors has been one of the catalyst for the economic growth that Lima/Allen County has experienced.

Big news for Allen County. 🙌

The Ohio Department of Development has awarded the Port Authority of Allen County a $2 million Roadwork Development Grant to improve McClain and Breese Roads — two key corridors connecting our region's growing business activity along I-75.

The improvements will widen and repave access routes to the new Amazon Distribution Center and support expansion of the Wieland Randall facility — creating 232 new jobs and retaining 660 more right here in Allen County.

This is what infrastructure investment looks like when the state and community work together. Strong roads mean stronger businesses, more jobs, and a region that keeps moving forward.

Big things are happening on Commerce Parkway!

AEDG was proud to support Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co., Inc. as they broke ground on their new 21,000‑sq‑ft John Deere dealership — a major investment that strengthens Lima’s industrial growth and expands the services available to our region.

The new facility will bring a larger sales floor, an expanded parts warehouse, and a modern service center featuring eight service bays and a 10‑ton overhead crane to enhance safety and efficiency.

A special thank‑you to the local vendors who helped make today’s celebration memorable — Celebrations in Delphos for the amazing balloon decorations and Miss Mel's Bakery for the delicious cookies. Supporting local businesses is what keeps our community thriving.

Momentum is building in Lima, and this is just the beginning.

Downtown Lima is not the same place it was five years ago — and that is a great thing.

New restaurants. New loft apartments with waiting lists. Renovated storefronts along Market Street. GLR's Park & Amphitheater restoration. The Central District is growing, and the momentum is real.
Community investment is not a single moment — it is a series of decisions made by local leaders, business owners, and residents who believe this region is worth building.

This is what that commitment looks like up close.

Major data center projects have options when choosing where to locate, and regions like Allen County stand out for a reason. Northwest Ohio offers key advantages that matter for this type of investment, including direct access US-30 and I-75, access to major fiber connectivity, extensive utility infrastructure, available land, and a strong workforce pipeline supported by nearby colleges, universities, and local career centers.

Site selection experts have pointed to these strengths as reasons the region is increasingly competitive for data center development. This kind of opportunity does not happen by accident. It reflects years of investment in the assets, infrastructure, and people that make the region well-positioned for long-term growth.

On Memorial Day, we honor those who gave their lives in service to this nation.

We are proud of this community's role in defending freedom — on the factory floor and on the front lines. To the fallen: your debt can never be repaid. To the families they left behind: we remember with you.
