Last month, Perry Township Fire Department crews were recognized for providing extraordinary care by both Lima Memorial Health System and St. Rita’s Medical Center.
One crew was honored for their exceptional care of a cardiovascular patient, demonstrating outstanding clinical judgment and seamless collaboration with the emergency department to ensure the patient was rapidly transferred to the Cath Lab for definitive treatment.
The second crew was recognized for their prehospital trauma care during a multi-vehicle accident involving several assisting agencies. Crews worked together to assist with extrication efforts and provided treatment and transportation for multiple patients.
Congratulations to Asst. Fire Chief Adams, Lt. Myers, EMT Graham, and FF/EMT Sprague on this well-deserved recognition. Thank you for your professionalism, dedication, and commitment to serving our community.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to our mutual aid partners from Shawnee Township Fire Department, Bath Township Fire Department, Lima Fire Department, Westminster Rural Fire Dept., and
Cridersville Volunteer Fire Department for their assistance and professionalism throughout the incident.
We would also like to thank the Plastipak employees and management team for their cooperation and support throughout the incident.

It’s that time of year again for us to do our yearly spring hydrant testing. We will begin May 11th and should be completed by May 23rd. We wanted to make everyone aware that you may see discoloration in your water during this time period. If you do please run your taps until it runs clear. Thank you for all of your wonderful support. Have a fun, healthy, and safe summer!

Hello Perry Township Community,
I would like to introduce myself and share a little bit about my background. My name is Nick Adams. I am excited and honored to be your new fire chief at the Perry Township Fire Department. I grew up on Amherst Road right here in Perry Township and graduated from both Perry High School & Apollo Career Center. I have been apart of PFD for 10 years now. Since joining the department in 2016 I worked my way through the ranks starting out as a volunteer firefighter, working my way up through the ranks becoming a leader of the department. While volunteering/working part-time at the fire department I worked full time with the Perry Township Road Department the last 10 years. Working with the Road Department, I learned a lot about our township and community. I am a proud, lifelong resident of Perry Township. After being raised within the community I chose to set my adult roots here with my beautiful wife and two sons. I have strong ties in the community that run deep, making me strive daily to provide the best service for our deserving residents. I am eager to further build the relationships with residents and local businesses to make our wonderful community even stronger with the amazing staff I have been entrusted to lead.
Sincerely,
Chief Adams

Yesterday we had the pleasure of putting on a mock crash for the high school students. This was not only a great training opportunity for multiple agencies but also a visual lesson for students about the dangers of impaired or distracted driving.
