SMS Washignton DC Trip 2026

SMS Parents: PTC is in need of volunteers who already have their background checks to help with the 8th grade celebration on 5/27 from 7:30am-9:30am. We will be serving breakfast to the 8th graders .

Students got a hands-on look at the world of surveying and transportation today as representatives from ODOT visited to teach topography and map reading skills. From learning how to read elevation changes to exploring real-world mapping tools, students experienced how these skills are used to plan and build the roads and communities around us.

Congratulations to the 8th grade football team going undefeated for their 25-26 season. The banner is finally in!

I'm so excited to announce your 6th grade student Alivia Cunningham became a State Finals Rodeo Champion in Light Rifle for the Ohio Junior High Rodeo Association this weekend representing Shawnee Middle School. She also clinched her spot as a national qualifier in light rifle, to represent Shawnee Middle School as well as the state of Ohio at the National JR High Rodeo in Gunthrie, Ok this June. We are very proud of her accomplishment and good luck to Olivia at Nationals!

SMS Parents & Guardians — If your child is interested in trying out for a school sport, please visit the school’s athletic webpage and register them through Final Forms. Once you are logged in, click the blue box to select registration for the 26/27 school year and then select the sports your child is interested in. This will populate Athletic Forms for you to complete. Once you have completed ALL forms, your child then logs in and signs their forms. Their password is the same password as their email password.
