Forgiveness From the Heart… and Learning to “Agree to Disagree” Today’s service gave me a lot to think about. Not because I left angry. Not because I’m trying to be negative. But because it reminded me that church is real life. Sometimes you’re going to hear th…

Faith and Recovery – Why I Need Both I used to think I had to pick one lane. Either I was going to be “the church guy” who just prayed harder…or “the recovery guy” who just went to meetings and did the steps. Now I know the truth:I ne…

Why It’s Okay to Be “Selfish” in Recovery Most of us grew up hearing: “You’re selfish.” “You only think about yourself.” Then addiction came and proved that true in ugly ways. We lied, used, and hurt people. So now, in recovery, the last t…

Honesty and Self-Love — What It Means to Me Honesty used to scare me. Not the kind where you tell someone the truth about what you did, but the kind where you have to look yourself in the mirror and face the truth about who you are. That kin…

⚡ Finding Stability Through Structure: How Routine Saved My Mind, My Sobriety, and My Sanity ⚡ 11/01/2025

⚡ Finding Stability Through Structure ⚡
By Josh Bridges

There was a time when I woke up every day with zero direction. ADHD had my thoughts running wild, depression drained my energy, and addiction… well, that nearly destroyed me. My days had no rhythm, no focus, no peace.

Then something clicked. I didn’t need to rebuild my entire life overnight — I just needed structure. One small routine, one habit, one promise to myself at a time. And that’s what saved me.

Here’s what helped me take back control 👇

💥 1. Wake up early — even if you don’t want to.
Starting the day with intention tells your brain, “I’m in charge.”

🙏 2. Talk to God or reflect.
A few quiet minutes of prayer or meditation before the chaos sets in can calm your spirit like nothing else.

💪 3. Move your body.
You don’t need a gym — just move. Walk, stretch, breathe. Energy creates momentum.

🍎 4. Eat something that fuels you.
Trust me, what you put in your body affects your mind.

📝 5. Plan three simple goals.
Not thirty — three. Knock them out and celebrate each one.

📵 6. Unplug sometimes.
Don’t let your phone control your peace.

🌙 7. Reflect before bed.
Think about what went right and thank God for it. Gratitude rewires the mind.

Routine didn’t make my life perfect. It made it possible.
Some days I still stumble — but now, I show up again the next morning. That’s where peace is built… in the repetition of trying again.

If your mind feels scattered or your heart feels heavy, try giving your day a little structure. You’d be surprised how much stability grows from small, simple steps.
