True Ocean Hair

a pool really hates to see us coming… fr lol ok, so we hate to break it to ya, sirenaaaasss but enjoying the pool requires before AND after hair care. here’s why: pools have chemicals that are drying and can strip your hair oils which can leave your hair vulnerable to breakage. your scalp can become dry and irritated, which also sucks.

color also hates chlorine and the cooper in the water can turn our blondies green, yes ma’am you heard that correctly!

last and definitely our least favorite thing, is that your hair can become SUPER frizzy and stiff the longer your hair stays in the chemicals.

so here’s the routine you NEED to steal before your next pool day:

1. BEFORE getting in, saturate your hair with water and work in your favorite leave-in conditioner generously (consider using a water-resistant leave in)

2. wear a braid or any of your favorite protective styles and cover every strand with a hat (sorry, but it’s absolutely necessary to help protect your hair)

3. AFTER your dip, wash your hair asap with color safe clarifying shampoo to remove the chemical build up

4. use deep conditioner to replenish your hair’s hydration (do this at least 1x a week)
