Two little hooves begin to peek through, with a nose nestled in between.

They’ll sit there for some time, maybe 30 minutes, but then quickly move, rapidly making way for a new foal to take its place in the world.

The front feet have to come first.
If not, the mare and foal are on a fast track to seeing a veterinarian, where they may manually manipulate the foal’s position, or even perform a cesarean section. UK investigation found former UK track coach made inappropriate remarks to student athletes 06/12/2026

A former University of Kentucky assistant coach made inappropriate remarks toward female student-athletes, according to an investigation report by the university.

Hakon DeVries, former assistant cross-country and track coach, resigned his position during the 2025 investigation into his conduct by the university’s Office of Equal Opportunity after complaints were filed against him by three women who ran on UK’s distance team.

Former University of Kentucky student-athlete Laken Snelling has moved her status hearing originally scheduled for Friday, June 12 to Aug. 21.

Snelling was arrested on Aug. 31, 2025 after police discovered a male infant in a trash bag in her closet. The infant was pronounced dead at the scene.

Snelling faces charges of first-degree manslaughter, abuse of a co**se, tampering with physical evidence and concealing the birth of an infant.

The University of Kentucky has selected James Buss as the next dean of the Lewis Honors College.

Buss has a Ph.D. in history from Purdue University and a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Bowling Green State University. According to UKNow, Buss has founded honors colleges at Salisbury University and Northern Kentucky University.

BREAKING: Kentucky men’s basketball lands top portal transfer Milan Momcilovic 06/02/2026

Kentucky men's basketball and head coach Mark Pope have landed the current top transfer in the portal in former Iowa State forward Milan Momcilovic.

Momcilovic removed his name from the NBA draft just before Wednesday night’s withdrawal deadline, and among the Wildcats, was also linked to St. John’s, Louisville and Arizona as programs to watch.

With the Cyclones, the 6-foot-8 junior averaged 16.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 50.6% shooting per game during the 2025-26 season. Against the Wildcats during the Sweet 16, Momcilovic posted 20 points, five rebounds and two steals in the 82-63 victory that ended Kentucky’s season.

Kentucky’s season ends on 6-5 walk-off loss to West Virginia 06/02/2026

Kentucky baseball had its season ended in walk-off fashion against West Virginia, falling 6-5 in the Regional Final.

West Virginia has solidified itself as the villain of Kentucky's postseason play. The Mountaineers have now prevented the Wildcats from advancing to the Super Regionals three times in as many games.

Kentucky will head into the offseason looking to rebuild after coming up one game short of Super Regionals in back-to-back years. The Wildcats will have to cover for multiple key losses this offseason.
