Join us at noon today via Zoom as we continue our June CAL/KAL. For the month of June we will be Playing with Color using the pattern of your choice. There are tons of designs and techniques to choose from, this is a great project for trying out something new with the support of other knitters. Colorwork techniques included in this KAL/CAL are stranded colorwork, fair isle, tapestry crochet, intarsia, short row striping, two color brioche, shadow knitting, double knitting, mosaic knitting, and duplicate stitch. Robyn created a Ravelry bundle ( https://ravel.me/spingirl/f04v4c ) with several pattern ideas if you need some help finding the perfect pattern. She is also available if you need help finding a pattern for a particular set of yarns or a technique you want to learn.

All ReBelle knit alongs are free and open to the public. You are welcome to attend as many or as few of the KAL sessions as you like.

This week at ReBelle is another exciting one. On Monday, join Robyn for Beginning Knitting, a two-part class that will teach you the fundamentals of knitting including knits, purls, increases, decreases, and basic pattern reading. This class is made for the absolute beginner and the class price includes all the materials you will need. On Tuesday afternoon, Susan will be starting her daytime Sweater Workshop where you pick the pattern and yarn you love (with our help if you need it) and bring it to class. While you knit, Susan will guide you through sizing, customizing, and finishing. Whether this is your first sweater or your tenth, this is an excellent way to improve your knitting skills. On Wednesday, Susan will be teaching her Intro to Mosaic Knitting class where you will learn to use slipped stitches to make amazing colorwork designs. Then on Thursday afternoon we will be continuing our June KAL/CAL, Playing with Color, where we will focus on projects that use more than on color and various colorwork techniques. Thursday Evening, Susan will be teaching her I-Cord Extravaganza where you will learn how to knit a basic i-cord and then move on to other variations such as attached i-cord, an i-cord bind off, double i-cord straps, and i-cord buttonholes. Saturday, Susan will be teaching a Needle Felting Shapes class with cookie cutters where you will learn to make basic felted shapes using wool and embellish them with yarn and fiber scraps. This is a beginner level class so no previous experience is required and we will provide the supplies for you to make a felted friend. Finally, Saturday afternoon, Susan will be teaching a class on making Dorset Buttons, a traditional button originally made from bone rings and wool. We will provide the materials for you to make a couple of versions of these buttons using plastic rings and embroidery floss, perfect for coordinating with any project.

Asking a knitter what he or she plans on doing with the yarn he or she just bought is like asking a squirrel what it plans on doing with that nut it just buried under a pile of leaves. -Clara Parkes

This week at ReBelle we have a lot going on so buckle in. On Tuesday, join Susan and learn to make Tassels and Pom Poms to use on their own or to gussy up an existing project. On Wednesday, Susan will be teaching her Intro to Fair Isle class where you will learn how to knit two color designs while managing your yarn and tension. Then on Thursday afternoon we will be continuing our June KAL/CAL, Playing with Color, where we will focus on projects that use more than on color and various colorwork techniques. Thursday evening, Susan starts a new session of her Sweater workshop where you pick the pattern and yarn you love (with our help if you need it) and bring it to class. While you knit, Susan will guide you through sizing, customizing, and finishing. Whether this is your first sweater or your tenth, this is an excellent way to improve your knitting skills. Saturday morning, Raellyn will walk you through several crochet techniques including mesh stitch, treble crochet, decrease shaping, and crocheting flat and in the round as you construct a French Market Bag. Saturday afternoon, Raellyn will help you take your crochet skills to the next level in Intermediate Crochet. She will cover intermediate skills like working in the round, using the magic ring start, making flat circles, reading patterns and charts, creating complex stitches, and shaping your project with increases and decreases. Finally, if you aren't tired of us yet, Sunday will be our Second Sunday Stitch-in where we invite you to grab a project and craft with other area knitters and crocheters.

For this week's Finished Object Friday, Sarah shows off the Watermelon Baby Cardigan by Stitchylinda Designs that she knit out of Berroco's Pima Soft. This adorable newborn sweater is the perfect gift for those summer babies and it can be knit with a single skein of each color. Sarah put together some kits containing the two full balls of the main colors, a mini ball of the white, and the buttons- everything you need to make this little cardigan and the matching hat.

Emma's Crazy Beautiful Color for June is here and it is bringing big summer energy! Tropical and cheerful pinks and teals layered over a sweet, citrusy, lemon-lime base. As usual, it pairs perfectly with other Emma's colors like Ladies & Magentlemen, Shut The Front Door, Mint To Be, and Remote. You also can’t go wrong with “In Sheep’s Clothing” (not pictured) as a light and bright summery neutral pairing that will let this June color shine!
