From Michigan to Denver, and thirteen incredible years right here in Lexington, Salvador “Sal” Sanchez has always known how to bring people together. For Sal, coffee was never just a drink. It was a way to build community, create culture, and make people feel at home.
On July 1, 2013, he opened the bright blue door of A Cup of Common Wealth. Since then, friendships have been formed, milestones have been celebrated, and countless people have found a place where they belong.
Now, Sal is heading to New York City for his next big adventure. While the man behind the vision is moving on, A Cup of Common Wealth isn’t going anywhere. The community, the culture, and the coffee you love are here to stay.
The blue door is still open. Come grab a cup.

Love lives in Lexington.
Lexington’s LGBTQ+ community has built a legacy of pride that spans generations. We were honored to support this year’s Lexington Pride Festival and celebrate the people, places, and moments, that helped shape our city.
Pride in Lexington extends far beyond June. From Kentucky Black Pride and Lex L*z Night to drag brunches, drag bingo, and more, our city celebrates LGBTQ+ culture year-round.
From iconic spaces like The Bar Complex to influential figures such as Sweet Evening Breeze and Henry Faulkner, Lexington has long been a place of belonging.
Happy Pride Month!
