Cameron took this picture on Sunday, 3/15/2020 as she was locking up and leaving for the night, not know what the future would hold. So much for thinking it would only last for a week or two. Those were some wild times for Chevy Chase Inn. We were shut out from most of the SBA money given away. We were broke. We shouldn’t have made it through. Quite honestly, Chevy Chase Inn should not exist today. Without The Chevy Chase Inn & Out Sidewalk Sales, Mystery Bags, Woodford Derby Bottles and so much more, the oldest bar in Lexington would no longer be located in the best neighborhood in town. Ya know what all the creative stunts had in common that were crucial to us making it to the other side of Covid? It was YOU! Our incredible friends and customers would not let CCI die. Anytime we asked for help, YOU showed up. Anytime we thought it was time to throw in the towel because it was impossible to run a bar that wasn’t allowed to have customers, YOU showed us why we needed to keep going.

Friends, there is one thing that we’ve always believed to be true since we took over Chevy Chase Inn on March 2, 2015…we do not own CCI. YOU are the true owners, we’re just lucky enough to be the stewards that keep the ship steered in the right direction to make sure the the best little bar in Kentucky is around for another 92 years.

Lexington, thank YOU for keeping Chevy Chase Inn alive and well.
