Our President, Matt Borjes, is attending this exciting conference in New Orleans this week. The team has grown with the addition of Curtis Montgomery and 2013 is already proving to be another exciting year!!

New Orleans here we come! Get ready for an exciting week of career services support for our members. The Career Services Center (CSC) will be open from Monday March 4 through Wednesday, March 6 from 9 to 5 p.m, CST. It will take place in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center – River Gate Room in New Orleans. The CSC will be an opportunity for all to witness a centralized location where recruiters, job seekers, consultants and mentors will convene to support the various facets of a person’s career growth in health IT. Also available will be the HIMSS JobMine kiosk, to post resumes and also search for potential positions listed. On site assistance for both will be available during the entire time that the CSC is in operation.

To add to the excitement, we have secured at least 10 educational sessions at various times throughout the conference at the center. These sessions are career pearls and career guidance from nationally recognized health IT leaders. Topics range from how to get hired to how to rebound after getting fired – just to name a few topics that will be discussed and that we all face in the workplace today in our career quests.

Finally, there will be opportunity to view career work provided by our Emerging Professionals Community (those with five years or less of health IT work experience). We had an overwhelming response for this poster session and the top 10 presentations were chosen after a careful selection process. This emerging group of HIMSS professional are our future leaders in health IT and they will be spotlighted for their current career accomplishments. Admission to the Career Services Center is free, so come and visit and learn, learn, learn from some of the best and brightness health IT leaders of today!

Last week we had a wonderful 2013 Meeting with all of our employees and many vendor representatives!! Thanks for all who helped make this a great success!! Especially a big shout out to Steve Watkins, our Operations Manager!!
