I came across Charles Finney’s post-conversion testimony recently. It will bless you.

“I returned to my law office and found that the wood stove was nearly burned out. (After putting in wood), “as I turned to take a seat by the fire, I received a mighty baptism of the Holy Spirit. I had no expectation for it, and without ever having a thought in my mind that there was any such thing for me, without recollecting having heard anyone speak of it, the Holy Spirit descended on me in a manner that seemed to go through me. He came through me in waves upon waves of liquid love. I cannot express it in any other way. It was like the very breath of God. It fanned me – like immense wings. Words cannot describe the wonderful love that was shed abroad in my heart. I wept aloud with joy and love and bellowed out the unutterable gushings of my heart. Those waves of love came over me again and again until I cried out ‘Lord, I cannot bear any more. I will die if these waves continue.’”

Just as the early disciples had multiple encounters with the Spirit and just as Finney did, God has this for us also. Why? Because the time if His returning is near, men, women, boys and girls are crying out in their hearts for help and love, and because we need power to demonstrate Christ’s love in our daily lives for them . When they see Him in us, they will want Him. When they want Him, they will find Him.

Loc is the youngest of five children born to a minority family in the highlands. His parents harvest vegetation on the mountainside, barely eeking out enough to feed the family. So there was no money for surgery to repair Loc’s cleft lip and palate. His mother anguished over every reminder that he was not getting enough to eat--his low weight, fussiness and frequent cries from hunger. A local pastor contacted Orphan Voice. Last month, Loc’s surgery corrected the problems. He is thriving! His parents rejoice as their youngest son plumps up, coos, and even smiles. You can be a part of changing somebody’s world. Entering adult life isn’t easy. Especially for orphans aging out of the system, trafficking victims, and severely impoverished young people. Every day is a struggle to live. Not every child has a nurturing family life. Orphans, disabled, and impoverished kids in Vietnam often feel isolation and judgment from their families, communities, and sadly, even their peers. They feel unworthy of love and undeserving of joy. Last month, thanks to our faithful partners, every child in our reach enjoyed a day at an amusement park with swimming, rides, and a special “safari” area. What a day!
