Good evening all! I hope you are doing well. It looks like warmer weather is finally here for more than just a few days at a time, so who wants to play some bocce?
I’m proud to announce that Bluegrass Bocce will be hosting their first outside bocce league (ever) this year at Grimes Mill Winery!
Like previous leagues there, it will be played on Sunday afternoons, every other weekend, starting on June 8 at 2:00pm. The season will run through the end of September with a season end tournament scheduled for October 12. Registration for 2 person teams is $100 and is due on the first day of play.

The Big Blue Bocce league tournament finished up last week. Defending champion Bocceez Nutz finished third. I Got 99 Problems but Bocce Ain’t One finished Runner-up, earning recognition for being most improved, as they finished in last place the previous season. Boogie Bushy Bocce was able to recover from their late season loss (just prior to the tournament) and held on to claim the title.
Congrats to all the teams! Hopefully we can all play together again soon! Stay tuned for info on the latest news about any potential indoor leagues…

Our Battle Axes League is officially underway! It took a couple of weeks to clear conflicts for some of our teams, but we're rolling now. The league schedule can be seen here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YhVSsmTmqWYbJCsCf9OfCsnk_fXz772LMy3_UnBIQuQ/edit?usp=sharing
Due to there being an odd number of teams, Boogie Bushy Bocce is playing in an exhibitionary role to allow all teams to play each week (as opposed to having a bye week). Matches played against them will not affect overall league standings or tournament seeding and are indicated by the yellow highlight on the schedule.

Any bocce court has the potential to flood with enough rain. The best constructed courts have built in provisions to facilitate drainage. How quickly a court drains depends on several factors, with the amount of rainfall being the most influential. Mother Nature usually wins in the short term. However, as most seasoned players will tell you, anything can happen on the bocce court. Don’t ever give up!
