We wanted to highlight our intern , Berea ‘25, for his birthday (photographed recently in our studio)! He will be with us for most of summer, helping out on production, capturing awesome moments with his stills camera, and producing something pretty sweet to be coming out in the near future. We had a wonderful time in the studio with gearing up for their next video campaign. Our previous collaborative project focusing on Harm Reduction also featured interviews filmed in our studio albeit on a stark white c*c, so for this story, we wanted add in comfort and an ‘at-home’ design to the overall visual direction. We’re excited with how everyone shared their stories, and we can’t wait for the finished edit!

We’re honoring International Women’s Day by spotlighting our co-owner, VP of Operations, and Office Manager extraordinaire, Susan Cobb. Susan is our Northstar in times good and bad, and her invaluable leadership and ‘can-do’ attitude have been felt by many, from customer to intern. Thank you for everything that you do; we can never appreciate you enough!
An essential part of how we tell stories is our valued clients. We forge long lasting relationships, and this in turn pays dividends in the our storytelling craft and the manner in which we produce videos. One of those valued relationships is with the Blue Grass Trust , a local nonprofit committed to the historical preservation of the place we call home: Lexington and the greater Bluegrass. Hear what Community Outreach Manager, Jackson Osborne, has to say about our four year partnership, and how we’ve had an impact on their messaging and mission through the power of video and content creation.
Over the years, we've had a wonderful relationship with R. J. Corman Railroad Group, including working on Working Hard to Be Lucky: the R. J. Corman Story, a documentary about the company's one of a kind founder and namesake, Richard J. Corman.
This year, R. J. Corman approached us to take on a collaborative script-to-screen approach in producing a film commemorating their 50th anniversary, and we couldn't be more proud. Thank you, R. J. Corman Railroad Group, for trusting us with your vision and story!

Video is a powerful teaching and learning tool for both professional development and classroom use. The Media Collaboratory in collaboration with Project Tomorrow produced a series of video modules that demonstrate how teachers/educators can implement mobile and tablet-based learning in their classrooms and curriculums to expand learning modalities and accessibility, and prepare students for the technological needs of the present and future.
The core content was produced in collaboration with Project Tomorrow and its corporate partner, Qualcomm Corporate Headquarters and, according to Project Tomorrow CEO, Julie A. Evans, Ed.D., “The Media Collaboratory’s experience and depth of knowledge about the K-12 environment, the quality of their work and interactions with our extended team has been exemplary.” The Media Collaboratory filmed interviews with Kentucky teachers and administrators, as well as footage of students and teachers actively engaged with the mobile devices in authentic classroom settings to create a five-part program, which is available nationwide.

Back in June, we helped our friends in the FOX 56 News Creative Services Department film a bunch of wonderfully produced exteriors for their brand new “Kentucky Our Home” brand launch. Our fleet of Aputure fixtures plus reflective/diffusion lighting control came in clutch for a consistent look that offered a high-key and friendly commercial appeal. The finished spot came out great; thank you for having us!

Speaking of interns, congrats to our former University of Kentucky intern Vyn Lane for taking home two awards tonight at this year’s UKY Film Festival! Also, our former intern Matt Dunlap who was featured in many of the films and is an all around rock star!

This is our Eastern Kentucky University intern, Cole, and we’ve loved having him this semester. Next week is his last week with us, so we brought him out to Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event for a proper send-off!
