Stone’s Throw Rabbitry

A fine young lady 👞

Stone’s Throw Mary Jane
11 weeks

Fun show today in Frankfort, with excellent rabbits on the table!!! Nice to see a lot of animals in wonderful condition.

It was very exciting to have several new open Mini Rex exhibitors in the area, who are starting out with excellent stock.

Every single junior of mine got excellent comments, I am so thrilled with this batch of grow-outs! All of the juniors are sired by Maple Ridge Riot, and they are very consistent group despite the big color spread. I am especially impressed with the quality of the agoutis, who have some of the nicest rings I’ve ever produced.

Show A (Ashley Sweeney):

Dennison’s/Stone’s Throw’s Black Swan - BOG Self (Black)
Stone’s Throw Pleasers - BOV Blue
Stone’s Throw Violeta - BOV Lilac
Stone’s Throw Marsha P Johnson - BOG Agouti (Opal)
Stone’s Throw Resin - BOSG (Amber)
Stone’s Throw Moondancer - BOV Castor

Show B (Terry Fender):

Dennison’s/Stone’s Throw’s Black Swan - BOG Self (Black)
Stone’s Throw Pleasers - BOV Blue
Stone’s Throw Violeta - BOV Lilac
Stone’s Throw Marsha P Johnson - BOG Agouti (Opal)
Stone’s Throw Resin - BOSG (Amber)
Stone’s Throw Moondancer - BOV Castor

Show C (Danny Long):

Dennison’s/Stone’s Throw’s Black Swan - 1st Black Senior Doe
Stone’s Throw Pleasers - BOV Blue
Stone’s Throw Violeta - BOV Lilac
Stone’s Throw Marsha P Johnson - BOG Agouti (Opal)
Stone’s Throw Resin - BOSG (Amber)
Stone’s Throw Moondancer - BOV Castor

My current grow-outs, all 8-9 weeks old. All sired by Maple Ridge Riot as he was my only non-heat sterile buck at the time! The perks of living in the house.

Missing is a beautiful Castor doe out of RECS Watermelon Moonshine, who inherited her mom’s pushiness 🤣😭

FYI - I will likely have an Amber false dwarf buck available, not the Amber pictured. He’s huge but his half-brother has been an excellent herd buck, and his dam is far and away my best brood doe.

When what’s probably the nicest rabbit you’ve ever made, who normally poses like an angel/sits like a little prince, decides “absolutely not” 🙄

Stone’s Throw Causing a Ruckus
Maple Ridge Riot x Stone’s Throw Kinky Boots

Stopped at Dennison Farm to go look at some rabbits from her full Mini Rex dispersal, and ended up taking home not one but TWO false dwarf/BUB does 🤣 I am a sucker for a big girl.

This black doe is very neat as she’s out of my homebred Stone’s Throw Ana, who is now also back in my barn! Absolutely loved her type and huge loin. She is soooo smooth and full.

Also picked up a drop dead gorgeous black otter doe who is so incredibly deep and full that I literally gasped when I pulled her out!

✨ no peanuts 🥜 ✨

Good night under the “stars” at what is always my favorite show, Northern Kentucky Rabbit Breeders Association’s Starry Night show!

Show A Kattie Reilly-Oschip:

BOG Self - Maple Ridge Riot (Black)
BOG Agouti - Stone’s Throw OverDrive (Amber out of retirement for the Grumpy Old Man fun show!)
⭐️ BOB - 3C Ruby (Otter) ⭐️

Show B Kristi Adelke:

⭐️ BOS - Maple Ridge Riot (Black) ⭐️
BOG Agouti - Stone’s Throw OverDrive (Amber)
⭐️ BOB - 3C Ruby (Otter) ⭐️

Had to go take some pictures outside to determine that Gertie’s litter does, in fact, have two “surprise” otters 🤣 So, I still have yet to produce a single amber doe, as DropShot’s ambers are definitely both bucks!

Baby Announcements 🎉

The rabbitry is in a mini baby boom this week, courtesy of Maple Ridge Riot (RIS winning self black carrying chocolate, dilute, and tort)! Four litters on the ground with two additional positive palpations/nesting behavior.

Riot x Stone’s Throw Gertrude (multiple BOB winning Opal, no idea how many legs)
Two Opals
One !!!Amber or Lynx!!!
Gertie has been the show string star since the fall, so excited about her brood career! She’s an extremely color correct Opal with the fur and body to match.

Riot x MBR DropShot (Castor)
One Castor
Two !!!!Ambers!!!!
Thrilled to have another litter out of my foundation doe! She’s the dam, second, or third dam of more than half of the barn, and due to the move and life circumstances, hasn’t been bred in a year. She took on one fall off ♥️♥️ DropShot is the mother of my most successful show rabbit ever, Stone’s Throw CatNap, and my many legged Amber herd buck, Stone’s Throw OverDrive.

Riot x RECS Watermelon Moonshine (Castor, 7 BOB GC legs)
One Castor (fostered to Kinky Boots)
Unfortunately Moon kindled three peanuts along with this little Castor, but this appears to be a doe! Moon had a very long and accomplished show career, but I have yet to retain a daughter of hers as they have all been brokens. This appears to be a doe, so hopefully it’s the one! Excitingly, it turns out that Moon is a confirmed dilute - two of her peanuts were Opals!

Riot x Stone’s Throw Kinky Boots (Black Otter)
Two Black
One Blue
Kinky had a very limited and late show career due to a nestbox ear injury, but she has the best type in the entire barn. Such a beautiful, short doe with an uber correct high point.

Really fun and slightly surprising showing with the does in Georgetown today!

Show A (Trinity Roach):

Stone’s Throw Smize Cream - BOG Self (Chocolate)
Stone’s Throw CatAttac - BOG Agouti (Castor)
3C Ruby - BOG Tan (Otter), ⭐️ BOB ⭐️

Show B (Danny Long):

Stone’s Throw Smize Cream - BOG Self (Chocolate)
Stone’s Throw CatAttac - BOG Agouti (Castor), ⭐️ BOB ⭐️
HC Stiletto - BOG Tan (Otter)

Show C (Ashley Sweeney):

Stone’s Throw Smize Cream - BOG Self (Chocolate)
Stone’s Throw CatAttac - BOG Agouti (Castor)
HC Rabbitry Stiletto - BOG Tan (Otter), ⭐️ BOB ⭐️

Absolutely wild to have 2 yo brood doe Stiletto earn another BOB AND an honorable mention on the BIS table! She is just the most rock solid doe, and she makes some gorgeous kits too ♥️ Some things get better with age!
