We know what it’s like to put your heart and soul into the success of your business. In 1994, Jim Leventis and Mike Crapps identified a missing element in the Midlands financial market – a locally owned bank focused on small businesses. So they founded First Community Bank on the belief that local business owners deserved a better banking partner, one that would truly match their stride and invest

We had a wonderful time last week at the Newberry Senior Center/Newberry Council on Aging, where we hosted an educational “Fraud Bingo” event!

With each number called, participants received helpful tips or walked through real-life fraud scenarios—making learning how to protect themselves both fun and interactive.

Staying informed about fraud is more important than ever, and it’s a great reminder that you’re never too old to learn new ways to protect yourself and your finances.

Thank you to everyone who joined us!

Tuesday was a great day for connection and growth! The U.S. Small Business Administration, in collaboration with the City of Columbia’s Office of Business Opportunities, hosted a Lender Awards Ceremony and Matchmaking Event that brought together lenders, entrepreneurs, and small business owners.

We’re proud to share that our team members, Maria Lawson and Jonathan Grogan, represented First Community Bank at this impactful event—celebrating top lending partners and helping foster meaningful connections that support access to capital and business success.

Opportunities like this make a difference in strengthening our local business community.

This coming Monday is more than a holiday—it’s a time to reflect.

We remember the brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their service and sacrifice will always be honored and never forgotten.

In observance of Memorial Day, our banking offices will be closed on Monday, May 25th. We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, May 26th.

From all of us at First Community Bank, we thank those who served and remember those who gave all.

We had a fantastic time over the weekend at North Springs Elementary School’s Cricketfest!

It was a great opportunity to give back to the community and connect with local families enjoying live music, games, face painting, and so many fun activities.

Our team loved working with students to share the basics of financial literacy, while also connecting with parents to explore the products and services we offer. One of the highlights was helping future homeowners take their first steps by learning more about our mortgage solutions.

Thank you to North Springs for welcoming us—we’re grateful to be part of such a vibrant community!

Each year, the South Carolina Bankers Association awards Palmetto Scholarships to college students whose parents work at SCBA-member banks.

This year, we’re proud to congratulate Ben Holmes and Roman White on receiving a Palmetto Scholarship!

Ben is the son of Will Holmes, a Commercial Banker in our Forest Acres office, and Roman is the son of Kristi White from our Loan and Sales Support team.

We were especially honored that our Chief Commercial and Retail Banking Officer, Drew Painter, had the opportunity to personally present the scholarship checks to the recipients. While Ben was unfortunately unable to attend the ceremony due to an exam, his father, Will Holmes, was there to accept the check on his behalf.

Please join us in celebrating their well-deserved achievement!
