Attorney Johanna Ellison provided the workers’ compensation bar with an appellate case law update at the 28th Annual UK/CLE Workers’ Compensation Institute on April 2, 2026. Johanna co-presented alongside attorney Audrey Haydon-Blackmon of Bardstown. She also had the rare pleasure of being able to discuss one of her own appellate cases, Graybar Electric v. Starr, a decision designated To Be Published by the Kentucky Supreme Court. A huge thank you to the UK/CLE staff for organizing such an outstanding program!

Fowler Bell’s Christopher Colson and his team participated in Kentucky Farm Bureau’s 8th Annual Clays for a Cause on April 21, 2026, held at the Jefferson Gun Club in Brooks, Ky. Since the event began eight years ago, the generosity of its sponsors and participants has provided donations of almost $2.5m to support increased awareness of the housing and hunger issues in our state. This year alone raised a record-setting $401,750 in a single day which benefits our fellow Kentuckians in need. Contributions will be made to Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville, Feeding Kentucky, Glean Kentucky and Kentucky Hunters for the Hungry. For 2026, there were 96 teams, 384 shooters and an unprecedented 57 sponsors. In 2026, Fowler Bell PLLC is again a proud sponsor of this worthy event.

Congratulations to Fowler Bell’s Business Manager, Patricia (Baugh) Caldwell, on her recent marriage to Brent Caldwell. We wish them many years of happiness.

CONGRATULATIONS to Grady Colson, son of Kelly and Christopher Colson, who was awarded 1st Place in Chemistry in the 41st Annual Kentucky American Water Science Fair. There were over 550 Fayette County public, private and homeschooled students in grades 4-12 who participated which featured 501 projects. A total of 127 student projects received awards with 6 projects receiving special recognition from Ky American Water for demonstrating achievement in water science. Grady is a 4th grader at Veterans Park Elementary. Congrats to Grady!

Our Annual Fowler Bell Chili-Soup Cookoff was another hit for 2026. We thank our panel of 3 Judges that we pull in from other areas of the building to do the taste-test and name the winners. The top 3 winners will then get bragging rights and proudly display their award for the ensuing year. Always a much-anticipated event for our Fowler Family!

Fowler Bell PLLC was a proud sponsor of the annual Kentucky Farm Bureau Golf Classic held on September 29, 2025, at the Quail Chase Golf Club in Louisville. This year’s event raised more than $62,000 for the Kentucky Farm Bureau Education Foundation which supports youth with their statewide college scholarship program. Since 1953, scholarship monies totaling more than $3.9 million have been awarded to over 2,500 students.

Fowler Bell enjoyed a Family Night at Legends Field on Thursday, July 31, 2025 as we watched the Lexington Legends take on the High Point Rockers AND bring home the win (6-7). Dinner was delicious and plentiful with special seating to cheer on the team. We enjoyed many laughs, great conversation, and an all-around fun event where we could all relax and enjoy the beautiful evening. The Lady Legends Dance Team also showed their spirit throughout. And Did You Know – one of the Lady Legends is none other than Jenna Fugazzi, the daughter of our own Glenna Fugazzi.
