π Real recovery isn't about perfection; it's about progress.
Recovery looks different for everyone, but meaningful change often starts with the same foundational steps: awareness, asking for help, healing, support, and hope.
It begins with recognizing that som**hing needs to change. From there, healing becomes possible through connection, self-compassion, and the willingness to take one step at a time.
The truth is, recovery isn't a straight line. There will be challenges, setbacks, victories, and growth along the way. What matters most is continuing to move forward and allowing yourself the support you deserve.
π Every recovery journey starts with a single step, and every step forward is worth celebrating.

M**hamphetamine continues to be a growing concern across Kentucky, impacting individuals, families, and communities in profound ways.
M**h use can affect nearly every aspect of a person's life, from physical health and mental well-being to relationships, employment, and overall quality of life. Because m**h is highly addictive, many people find themselves trapped in a cycle that can feel impossible to break without support. Kentucky communities continue to face the long-term challenges associated with m**h addiction and its impact on public health.
Our latest blog explores the rise of m**h addiction in Kentucky, the effects it can have on individuals and families, and why early intervention and professional treatment are so important for lasting recovery.
π Recovery is possible, and no one has to face addiction alone.

π PTSD & Trauma Awareness Month Reminder: Thereβs still som**hing good waiting for you.
When you're living with the effects of trauma or PTSD, it can be difficult to imagine a future that feels peaceful, hopeful, or fulfilling. Trauma has a way of convincing us that healing is out of reach.
But your story is not defined by what happened to you.
Healing doesn't mean forgetting. It doesn't mean pretending the pain never existed. It means learning how to move forward with support, resilience, and hope for what comes next.
This PTSD & Trauma Awareness Month, we want to remind anyone who is struggling that recovery is possible. There are still moments of joy to experience, connections to make, goals to achieve, and brighter days ahead.
π No matter where you are in your healing journey, there is still som**hing good waiting for you.

π Lexington Addiction Center Spotlight: Amy Kalber π
Amy has worked in the mental health and substance use disorder field for more than 10 years and is also proud to be in recovery herself for over 15 years. Her personal and professional experiences have fueled a deep passion for helping individuals find hope, healing, and a path forward.
As Clinical Director, Amy leads with authenticity, empathy, and a genuine understanding of the recovery journey. She believes that lasting change is possible for everyone and is committed to creating an environment where clients feel supported, empowered, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Outside of work, Amy stays busy as a devoted soccer mom to her beautiful and, as she affectionately describes them, slightly feral children. She also cares for her rescue animals, tends to her two flocks of chickens, owns a crystal shop, and is a Reiki Master. Her passion for nurturing growth and healing extends far beyond the workplace.
Amy shares,
"I genuinely love what I do and feel incredibly lucky to have found a home at LAC. The people, the mission, and the heart behind this company make it the best place I've ever worked, and I'm grateful to be part of such an amazing team."
We are grateful for Amy's leadership, heart, and unwavering commitment to helping others build healthier, happier lives. π
