Behind the Scenes: A Hard Truth We Need to Share 💔

It’s easy to look at our page and see happy updates, but today, we need to be completely vulnerable with you.

Right now, adoptions are down everywhere. The truth is, we are hitting a wall, and our hearts are breaking for the dogs in our care.

🐾 Our puppies are growing up in rescue. We have sweet, wiggly puppies who should be learning in a forever home, chewing on their own toys, and sleeping in their own beds in their on home. Instead, the weeks are ticking by, and they are growing up behind the scenes in foster care.

🐕 Our incredible adult dogs are being completely overlooked. We have dogs who are absolute gems—house-trained, affectionate, goofy, and loyal—who have received zero adoption applications. Not a single application. Not a single inquiry. They are waiting patiently every single day, wondering when it will be their turn.

Here is the hardest part of rescue that keeps us up at night: We cannot save more dogs if our current dogs have nowhere to go. Because adoptions have slowed to a crawl, our foster homes are full. Our "long-termers" are safe and loved, but while they wait months and months for a family, the door is effectively shut for the next dog in the shelter who is running out of time. Every day we have to say "no" to taking in a dog in crisis because we simply don’t have an open spot.

We are stretched thin, emotionally and physically. We need our village more than ever.

Say hi to Nellie 💕
Nellie is a beautiful, small female pittie with the sweetest soul. She’s fully potty trained, does great in her crate, and walks nicely on a leash. She has a playful, energetic side when she’s in the mood, but her favorite thing is cuddling up with her person and soaking up all the snuggles.

Belly rubs are basically her love language—she’ll happily accept them anytime. Nellie is incredibly sweet and affectionate and just wants someone to love her as much as she’ll love them back.

Nellie is truly a lovable girl who deserves a home where she can feel safe, adored, and cherished. 💖

Meet Theodore 🐾

Theodore is a bundle of joy with the perfect mix of playful energy and snuggly sweetness! This handsome boy loves a good game of fetch and will happily chase his favorite toy over and over — especially if it means spending time with his people.

When playtime is over, Theodore is all about the cuddles. He’s a champion snuggler who’s happiest curled up next to you soaking up all the love.

He is potty trained and crate trained and currently working really hard recall especially around distractions! Theodore does wonderfully with cats, kids, and other dogs, making him a fantastic addition to just about any home.

We are looking for a foster home for an adorable brother-and-sister duo! 💙💗

These puppies need a safe place to grow, learn, and prepare for their forever homes. As a foster, your job is simple (and rewarding!):

✨ Love them
✨ Teach them good manners
✨ Work on potty training
✨ Help with crate training
✨ Get them to veterinary appointments in Richmond, KY
✨ Bring them to adoption events in Fayette County and surrounding areas

That's it! We'll handle the rest.

🐶 The rescue provides food, supplies, veterinary care, and everything else they need to succeed. You provide the time, patience, and love that helps them become confident, well-adjusted dogs.

Meet Rosemary — a bright, playful girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Rosemary is fully potty trained (though she may let out an occasional little “excited pee” when she’s especially happy to see you), crate trained, and does well on a leash, making her a great companion for an active home.

Rosemary is incredibly smart and catches on quickly to new routines and training. She loves to play, wrestle, and keep the fun going — this girl has energy to spare and is always ready for the next adventure. Once she feels safe and comfortable, her silly, goofy side shines through, and she’ll keep you laughing with her playful antics.

Because Rosemary takes time to trust, she needs slow, patient introductions to new people and pets. She prefers to meet others on her own terms and can be cautious at first, especially with unfamiliar people. With kids, a very slow and respectful introduction is important. She does well with other dogs after proper introductions, though she likes to be in charge and may try to take on the “boss” role in the pack. She previously lived with cats in another foster home, but hasn’t been tested with cats in her current foster setting.

Rosemary is the type who loves to stay busy and would thrive with a family that can continue helping her build confidence and practice calmness.

This sweet boy is Newton.
He is slowly going from Fig Newton to Sir Newton with his amazing Glow up!

He is around a year old and truly awesome! He loves people and all the other pups he has met he has made instant friends! He loves to play, even with cats which my cats aren’t so keen on so slower introducing is key.
He enjoys car rides, couch time, and toys. A massive toy collector! 😆
Despite his rough start in life with being left to fend for himself and growing with a broken leg, he is a lovely boy! He doesn’t mind sharing toys and is very submissive. He also enjoys carrying his toys around hoarding them in one area. He is crate trained and has been doing fabulous with his house training. We are working on leash training and to not get overly excited looking at things on walks. His bum leg doesn’t stop him from doing anything. He’s still gives you hugs, can jump on the couch or bed and even a fence if it’s low enough (like 4ft). So a tall fence is required for him.

Because he's a senior gentleman, he does appreciate frequent opportunities to go outside for potty breaks. Other than that, he's an easygoing guy who is simply looking for a family to spend his golden years with.
